Description for Ford Other 1932
This is a very fine example of an original. 1932 Ford Fordor Deluxe model 18 V-8 with 42. 97 miles. It’s an early car. #36. 14 of 203. 26. which equates to a March build. The body is exceptional with just the typical very light surface rust shown in the pictures. The doors open and close well. and the windows roll up and down as they should. The fenders appear to have had a little work done to them but they are in good shape with very nice beads and no rust. The hood is nice and the grill shell and insert are perfect! The car was repainted once along the way and is nice for a driver and for show and shine. It's a survivor. not a show car. The door jams and under the fenders/hood etc. have original paint. The bumpers are decent Drake repos. The floors are very clean and the wood is very good. All the interior paint is original. It still has the original top insert that is in good shape. All the glass is in good shape and appears to be original except the rear quarter windows that are badly de-laminated. I was going to replace the windows. but people like the old patina look. For some reason the rear door glass has rough top edges. The engine was replaced somewhere along the way with a rebuilt motor. The 32 motors had an over heating problem and had to be replaced. I believe this car had the motor replaced in 1934. It is still a 21-stud motor with the early attributes. but the heads are date stamped 51/52. Original 1932 oil pan and intake manifold. both aluminum. exhaust manifolds. distributor is 34 with flip oil cap. Detroit Lubricator carb. generator and fan. It has NOS 1932 water pumps that were rebuilt by Skip Haney. The engine runs very well. no smoke. good power. doesn't over heat and starts right up every time. It does leave a few drop of oil. which is typical for the old V-8's. The transmission is original and numbers matching. Original rear-end with 4. 11 gears. The frame and suspension components are all original. The brakes are the original mechanicals and there are signs of them being redone at some point. The gas tank was cleaned. lined and painted professionally and is very nice. The car has original 18-inch rims that are in excellent shape. All 5 tires are new. The seats are in good original shape. the carpet is new. the headliner is all there but it has a couple of holes that the visors cover and a few small ones throughout. the door panels have been re-done in the original (LeBaron Bonney) fabric. The visors are nice and are the double adjustable style. it also has the original back window blind. and flip top ashtrays. The carpet is new. The amp gauge and speedometer work perfectly and are accurate. The fuel gauge does not work; the line is broken at the gauge. The dash. cowl. taillights. high/low beams all work. The horn works. The underside of the dash is very clean. At some point the dash was drilled in front of the driver and a Rex-a-Co oil pressure gauge was installed. It works well and there is very good oil pressure. This car is an 82-year-old survivor with great patina. It is outstanding the way it is. or would be a great car for restoration. I have an original title from the 40's that goes with the car. This is an old car so don't expect to drive it home unless you live an hour away or can drive 45mph all the way home. I am sure it would make it to New York if you had the time and patience. The price is 25k obo. A non-refundable $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction end. nbsp;and the balance is due within 7 days. If any thing has not been addressed. please feel free to email or call Wink and Sherry at 801-876-2007/801-309-7329. More pictures are available. The car presents very well and gets lots of attention.
