Description for Datsun Z-Series 1979
1979 Datsun 280ZX Turbo Project CarCar has been sitting for a number of years and is a project that was never completed by the previous owner.Engine turns over by hand
Additional pics of underbody/chassis available - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Tg5jmSLv0fhDvDUw7iyKrlcWscOv6G_j?usp=share_link
CHASSIS is solid with just a few rust issues to deal with - main one is the left rear frame rail corner - it rusted out from water sitting in it and that end part of the rail needs to be redone. There's some minor rust through at the front of both rocker panel pinch welds and one edge is soft on the right frame rail near the firewall where the jack stand in the picture is located. Otherwise very solid and clean, the usual rust areas - spare tire well, rocker panels, frame rails, shock towers, floor pans, rear subframe mounts are in really good shape. This car is NOT a rot box and can be fixed up with a reasonable amount of work
Many great parts on this car including:L28ET Turbo Engine SwapIntercoolerMegasquirt aftermarket ECUFactory Turbo Wiring Harness + ECU16" WheelsEibach Lowering springs & ShocksBody Kit and rear spoilerRecaro Seats in excellent condition - no rips or tears
Needs an up to date engine management system like this:https://protunerz.com/collections/plug-and-play-ecu/products/ms3x-ecu-l-series-plug-and-play-harness-kit or install the factory turbo wiring harness and computer which are provided
Needs a gas tank or a relining at the minimum
Some wiring cleanup inside - main thing to deal with is removing the push button start and putting the ignition switch back to stock
Plus the usual maintenance from sitting for a number of years
Not looking to part out as this is a good package deal as it is
