Description for Datsun Other 1976
1976 Datsun 620 pickup. These pickups are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Most remaining examples have rusted to death or have been cut-up. lowered. and modified. This is a rare 83. 00 original miler with an automatic transmission. I purchased this vehicle from the grandson of the original owner who has long since passed on. the truck was purchased new at a local Datsun dealer. and according to the grandson had never left the county where we reside. Our auto-body person was on the fence as to whether or not to paint it. The body was in good shape except for where the drivers door meets the fender. Apparently it is quite common for the door to blow open in the wind and crinkle the door edge and the fender edge. It was decided to go ahead and replace the fender. repair the door and re-paint the whole vehicle to correct one coat factory color. The only rust found was surface rust in the exterior defroster vent under the louvers at the bottom of the windshield which was taken apart. repaired. and re-painted. nbsp; the original upholstery was torn. and the springs were wore out so the springs were repaired and new upholstery was done. the wheels and tires are new. but we did keep the ones that were on it and will include them if you would like them. The original spare tire and wheel are there and were taken apart. cleaned. sandblasted. and re-painted the original "argent" color. As some of you may remember. everything in the 70's was undercoated. and this truck was no exception. The original undercoating was flaked and wore out. so we had it professionally re-undercoated. Believe it or not. the original owners manual. vinyl tool bag tools. and jack are still in their proper places. The truck was tuned up serviced and runs great. although it is not a speed demon by any stretch of the imagination. but is a ton of fun to drive. and definitely turns heads. This truck was also featured in Hemmings Motor News "Find of the Day". December 24. 2014. check it out. We have recently moved the truck to Central Washington where it is a much drier climate than here on the coast and are storing it in a garage there where it is not subject to the moist air that we have here on the coast. Please contact us with ANY questions that you may have. and we will answer them to our best possible knowledge. I do know that the AM radio does not work. and our mechanic suggested that there is a fuse behind it that is very difficult to get at and may be the problem. I also know that there is a plastic bottle in the engine compartment that is either the windshield washer or the radiator overflow canister that should be replaced for aesthetic reasons. Please look closely at all of the pictures. and ask questions!!
