Description for DeSoto Firedome 1954

Thanks for looking at this 1954 Desoto Firedome Coupe in Cadiz Blue. It is virtually all original, and has practically all the original parts. It has a wonderful patina and would make a great project car for full restoration or to simply drive as is. The car drives quite well considering its age, but would benefit from new bushings, joints, and shocks. The engine is the original Hemi and has the Carter 2bbl carburetor and powerflite automatic transmission. I have driven this car on weekends for the past two years. The body mounts and undercarraige are in pretty decent shape. It's been in southern California for its known life. The rust present on the car is in areas like lower door panels and the bottom of the spare tire well. These areas are typically easy to repair, and not structural. They are very easy to access and the metal on this car is relatively thick compared to today's standards. I've done my best to showcase these areas so you know exactly what to expect. I'm hoping any interested party will be able to come drive and fully inspect the car, but if not, I will be happy to answer any questions you have and take any reasonable photo requests of specific areas I may have missed. The wipers work, the horn works, the lights all work. The only thing converted is I installed an electric fuel pump. This has been a nice improvement to the car since it fires right up every time. The old mechanical pumps required a little bit of priming. I will include the original (working) mechanical fuel pump along with a few other miscellaneous extras like an extra Carter carburetor, extra rebuilt brake master cylinder and grille parts, manuals etc (See picture of extras included). I had a lot of fun getting this car to driving shape and hope it goes to a good home for someone else to enjoy. Hagerty suggests these cars in fair condition are around 18k and I think this fits that "fair" description.
