Description for DeSoto custom 1951
This car is one of rare ones found anywhere in America. Has factory matched midnight blue exterior with abundance of chrome trim. Wheel covers all stainless steel to prevent rust. Interior has light tan leather seats with steering to match. Has old time tube radio as first built. Over 10-years in states of restoration. Many national awards wherever shown. Offered with enclosed 24-foot trailer for hauling to shows. equipped with power winch for ease of movement in and out. Also provides all-weather protection when parked or moving. Only reason for selling was recently diagnosed with stage three cancer. This is old love affair as one like it was first car I owned after being discharged from Army during Korean conflict era. I paid for it with GI Bill money and part time job while attending college. Was lucky enough to find one about 15-years ago on east coast. Took off tons of salt damage rust rebuilding large percentage of metal work. Very few convertibles exist anywhere in world as only built limited production because of Korean conflict causing factories to close regular production to build vehicles for war effort. ATTRACTS CROWDS WHEREVER IT SHOWS UP.
