Description for Dodge Coronet 1957

1957 Dodge Coronet

Hello Classic Mopar and Mr. Virgil Exner's big fin car fans. Here is a mostly complete, ll original and unmolested 1957 Dodge Coronet post car (2 door sedan). Showing only 49,706 miles which are believed to be original. Car has quite a lot of good things going for it, hich will make the (needed) restoration easier overall. It has; however, rust issues insome places. Despite being very solid and complete overall, he car will need some metal repair/fabrication work to address some areas in the floor pans, ocker panels and rear of trunk pan. It will need some small repairs and/or body workas well on a few spots typically found on older cars (rear wheel well edge, uarter panel, tc.). Regardless, his carlooks prettygood for being 58 years old!

I think this automobile would make a killer NASCAR Tribute car just like the '57 Dodge post and hardtop cars which were being raced back in the day and doing quite well on the circuit. The restoration would be well worth it as the value of a Tribute NASCAR car would be substantially higher than just doing the car as an original 2 door post, nd wouldn't that get a few conversations going? Please check Peter Griest's book "Dodge: The Performance Cars" - Sutton - 2000.

The car has an in-line 6-cylinder engine (which most likely did not win any NASCAR race!). I don't know if it turns over, t may be safe to assume that it will need to be looked at. The top section (head) sits loosely on the engine. The transmission is the 2-speed, ush button, ireflite automatic. Overall, he car is actually in pretty remarkably good condition. The bumpers are in great shape. They are straight and shine brightly. Most of the trim work isthere and is in good/great condition. Dash, nstrument panel, rille and emblems look great. The wheel covers/hubcaps look fantastic; check out the details of the Lancer's head! Windshield and glass are in excellent condition with no damage whatsoever. Door panels and upholstery are all there and are in pretty good/fair condition. Unbelievably, he seats still have the original, actoryprotective plastic covers on them! Of course some re-upholstery work will be needed. Note: Dodge scripts as seen in some of the pictures (taken quite sometime ago)are no longer on the hood and trunk. They were removed and are no longer available.

This big fin late 50's Dodge begs to have a second life. Cars needing much more and substantial/difficult work are being saved and restored every day! Even though it needs a bit of effort, his car well deserves an easy restoration. Restoring itto original conditionor, etter yet intothe NASCAR Tribute race car discussed above would be well worth it, specially when the car can be purchased for such an incrediblylow price (way less than what it cost me!) Where else can you get such an iconic car for less than $3500 (Buy It Now price)? Reserve is a little bit less, ut don't take the chance of losing this opportunity to whomever gets it at the Buy It Now price because you only bid on it!

NOTE: I also have severalnew heavy guage metal replacement panels which I had bought (all floor pans, nner & outer rockers, tc.).These parts would be perfect for this car; of course they would beextra; a package deal may be possible for the lucky buy it now buyer.I also have a very nice (running) drivetrain from a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere, hich (I think) would fit perfectly in this Coronet - should be the same motor mounts. 318 Poly V8 with a 3-speed push button 457 Torqueflite automatic transmission and 2-barrel carb. Imay have a manifold and carburetor for a 4-barrel set up which would be perfect.

I have A LOT ofother parts available. Primarilyfor '57 Plymouths and some for '58(Belvedere, avoy, lazaand Fury). Also '57 Plymouth Suburban 2 door Station Wagon and extra parts for sale. If you are looking for something call me with what you are looking for and I can let you know if I have it. I was going to have several old Mopars restored and prepared for it, ut things happened and I am no longer pursuing this endeavor. Life is short.

Please call me with any questions at(303) 941-1765.This is preferable and much easier/faster than e-mails.Of course, mail inquiries will be answered, lbeit with some delay. Please NO text messages, hey will not be replied to (scam avoidance).
