Description for Dodge Power Wagon 1949
Up for auction is a family owned since new truck... It was my grandpas. The story is he bought it new and drove it home from Detroit.. In his passing myfather inherited it and the title was transferred to him in 1964....( which I have a copy of)....through the 60,s 70,s it was usedaround the farm... I was born in 67 and am well aware ofbeing around it through the years....in 2006 it started being transformed back to its ORIGINAL glory, t was quite an undertaking... New box, ood, unning board, ender, nterior, iresand the list andreceipts go on and on....(yes I have them all).. My pops was a fanatic about keeping track of everything.. Pictures were taken of the restoration process.. The truck was disassembled and hours of labor were poured into it....being completed in 2007 it became a show piece for him but he soon realized it was a lot of work getting ready for shows and such... It went back into the garage up till his passing in 2010.. I transferred it into a controlled environment garage and now it just sits getting started throughout the year.....the brakes were new but now need work, hich in deciding to sell I am looking into...so many new and restored parts were put into it....I do have a folder with them all for the new owner...Truck runs and shifts as it should...I have been a car buff my whole life so please save me the b.s....I've come to the conclusion in my life that it needs to be seen or in someone elses collection. I have nokids to pass it onto due to unforeseen circumstances. The selling funds could be put to better use.The reserve is set in the 30's.... why?... I dunno... its hard to put a price on this history.. Is it worth a lot more? I guess we'll find out.......Thanks
