1953 Military Dodge M43 ambulance

This vehicle was originally a US Air Force ambulance based on color of the interior. The truck spent most of its post military life at a fire department in Nevada so the sheet metal has no rust with one small exception as shown in the photos. I had barely started restoration on the truck when my work shop was destroyed in a freak wind storm 4 years ago. Consequently, y priority for this restoration slipped far down the list. I have since lost interest in the project due to age and other priorities.

The passenger side of the vehicle sustained some dents as shown in the photos but thank goodness, span>the damage was relatively minor. I have not started the engine since the shop incident and now the 3 batteries in the truck are shot. The original 24 volt ignition system is still in place but a 12 volt system was also installed to run the emergency equipment add-ons that were added by the fire department. Everything worked well when last run 4 years ago, ncluding the 4 WD. Wiring is original, o rust anywhere except as notedabove.Odometer reads 12101 miles. I drained the radiator and gas tank after the shop incident. There is a spare tire, 00x16 tire chains, nd a large container of restoration parts including, eals, earings, rake-master cylinder kits, indow rubber, ire wrench, ack, oor stops and many other parts. The seat covers and brakes could use some work.
