Description for Dodge A 100 - 108 Family Wagon camper conversion van 1968
Relisted with a huge price drop. Hate to sell, ut need the space! Offering my super rare 1968 Dodge A 108 van AKA "Family Wagon" camper. It is a true 48 year old survivor. It is 100% original paint with a nice fine patina. All factory glass in perfect condition with all the MOPAR markings. Never any accidents! Beautiful factory interior with room for cargo, couple Honda Mini trails or an air mattress in the back. Unique camper conversion with everything including the kitchen sink. Has built in LP gas heater, ounter tops and several drawers and cubbies for storage. Roll a way blinds on all the windows. Shown with vintage mag wheels with 15" bias ply tires. I will reduce the Buy It Now price by $500 if you would rather just have the factory steel wheels and hubcaps. As you can see in the pictures it is in exceptionally nice, riginal condition inside and out. It has a tons of cool features including the retractable side step that extends flawlessly from under the body when you open the side door to let passengers board. There are defects but they are all out in the open for you to see. Minor scratches, mall crusty areas here and there, ock chips and wear appropriate for a well cared for machine of it's age. Very minor rust under rear bumper but not enough to even take time to repair. This rig is 100% original paint and it just wouldn't be worth it to chase those small defects and risk a mismatch on the paint. Although you may choose to spend money on it, his van does not need anything other than a fun loving owner.
This cool little van is powered by the famous "leaning tower of power" slant six engine which has been recently rebuilt and runs GREAT!, t has good brakes, good clutch and "three on the tree" standard transmission. It is easy and fun to motor around getting stares and "thumbs up" every time I take it out. It has great oil pressure and runs cool. Freshly adjusted valves, ew heat resistant insulation on fuel line and new insulation on engine cover.
Before I bought this I thought that I wanted a VW bus, ut when I looked at vintage busses in similar condition I was not willing to shell out $60,000 for something with half the horsepower and relatively common in comparison. I see vintage VW's everyday, ut one like mine - NEVER! This is the only one I've ever seen so I bought it. Now is your chance to be the center of attention!
This is a really fun machine to take the family out on an excursion or to the Drive In, ce cream shop or local hang out. It's been the hit of local car shows and won "Best Hot Rod" at the first show we took it to. It is super reliable, ets good gas mileage, oes not overheat or do anything weird. It is a simple machine that has been loved it's entire life. It has obviously been garaged and well cared for.
I love old cars and always want to have something unique - If you are like me consider this little van but only if you like people. It never fails to attract a crowd and best of all - NONE OF YOUR BUDDIES HAVE ONE OF THESE!
