I amselling my 1971 Charger 500 N- Code 383 car factory air automatic. I have owned this car for several years. This is a solid car in original condition with 98k miles it is basically like I bought it except for the wheels and tires and the 3.23 rear end gears that were replaced with posi 3.55 gears. I purchased it from a gentleman in Colorado Springs who ended up with it after his brother lost his license after damaging the front fender. So his kid and him worked on it but did not do themselves any favors the kid had sprayed painted a couple of spots in the engine compartment to try to detail it but if you look close you can see where he did it, ot catastrophic but you can tell. Both him and his kid decided they did not have the time, nergy, r skills to work on it so they sold the car to me. I was told they weresecond or third owners of the car. The car runs good and I have taken it back and forth to work several times and to local car shows. These are hard to find in original condition. It has the original factory paint and stripe. I would consider this a serious survivor. It is not perfect but it is how it was back in the day. It does have door dings scratches etc. The front fender does need replaced or some time spent on it. I do have another 71 fender and the chrome wheel molding I bought a while back and had it media blasted at A1 Metal Striping to replace the one that is damaged. The good fender is in primer. Also just behind the rear quarter panel is a dent it is very minor but still visible if you look at the photo. The rear end housing still has the factory paint markings on it blue and white I think. Most of the items needing attention are cosmetic. The drivers seat needs attention /recovered. The carpet is worn and will need replaced. The headliner is in great shape along with the door panels and the other seats. Gauges work but the bezel was cut open to make room for a different radio, retty common for these cars seems that was the norm in the day. The green plastic ash tray cover broke off still have pieces but will need another cover to make it look nice. The key hole cover is missing on the passenger door but the lock still works without it. The trunk does have some surface rust it only needs cleaned up it appears to only be on the surface. No holes. The body and floor pans are solid. Lips and edges all around are solid. Engine still has the dual 383 snorkel air cleaner. Lower chrome body molding on the drivers side is missing and was missing when I bought it. Wheels and tires are practically new 17 inch from Coys wheels and tires. The car does not leak. The tires that where on it previously had wear on the drivers side inner the passenger side was fine., robably alignment or ball joints? It does drive nice on the road and does not jump around so not sure exactly. I also have the letters for the front grill that spells Dodge. I have not taken the rear seat out but I would be certain that the build sheet is still intact. Might be a nice surprise for someone or maybe I will try to look before the end of the auction. I would like to see this go to the right person who understands and appreciates these cars for what they are. The car will be for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. $500.00 non-refundable deposit due at auctions end.
