And, n fact, etween its outrageous aesthetics and chill-inducing stance, he car has so much appeal that we've joked about keeping it around as a kryptonic display piece! But, ogic ultimately prevailed, nd we decided to offer it to you as an incredible classic that can be enjoyed both on the road and at the show.
BODYWORK/TRIM
After spending most of its life as a solid driver, his clean coupe was the perfect starting point for a no-holds-barred rotisserie build that decked a hot Hemi big block in savage MoPar attitude. To kick things off, he car's broad-shouldered Hamtramck body was stripped all the way down to bare metal. Once that metal was prepped and ready to spray, uPont Dodge Viper Snakeskin Green 2-stage was stacked on a virtually flawless profile. When that profile was completely sealed and fully buffed, lat Black war stripes were aligned with "HEMI" and "480" call-outs. And eventually, his Dodge rolled onto the streets as a positively evil muscle car that tempers an old school, o-nonsense demeanor with new age panache!
1968 was a notable year in American pop culture. The first Big Mac was served, lvis made a huge comeback and Dodge released what is probably the most iconic muscle car in its long history of performance. Sure, ou really can't go wrong driving any Charger. But when it comes to popularity, ew will argue the incredible significance of a '68 or '69-vintage B-Body. At the front of this coupe, black, tainless-trimmed grille hangs a prominent "Charger R/T" script above a body-width bumper and green-detailed fratzog parking lamps. Above that grille, sculpted, lack-trimmed hood hangs small turn indicators in front of dark-tint glass that's set in spotless stainless frames. At the sides of that bonnet, faceted profile anchors chrome Chrysler door handles beneath traditional mirrors and a familiar 'pit stop' fuel filler. And at the back of that profile, black, tainless-trimmed valance centers a bright "R/T" emblem between jet-inspired taillights and a second body-width bumper.
ENGINE
Hoist this Dodge's hood and you'll find 480 cubic inches of all-American bliss! Crossing big horsepower with neck-snapping torque, hat powerplant's revolutions begin with a polished, HEMI" branded air cleaner that's stretched over dual Carter 4-barrels. At the base of those carbs, n aluminum Chrysler intake feeds cast iron heads, hich are dressed with requisite Organisol-coated valve covers. At the base of those heads, TI long-tube headers frame a beefy, ast iron block. At the front of that block, n MSD Pro-Billet distributor sequences fire between high quality Painless Wiring and clean Moroso Blue Max plug wires. At the front of those wires, raditional V-belts spin modern power steering and a modern AC compressor at the side of an aluminum water pump. That pump circulates coolant through an oversized Wizard Cooling radiator that's mounted between a polished overflow and a snazzy, ustom-fabricated fan shroud. And, esthetically, he Hemi Orange mill provides an excellent contrast to the car's smooth, ody-matched engine bay.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Toss this Charger on a lift and you'll find a Snakeskin Green undercarriage that's a product of professional grade customization and a roster of top-notch components. Behind the big block, slick Tremec TKO600 5-speed pairs a McLeod billet steel flywheel with a street performance clutch. That clutch engages a proven 8.75-inch rear axle that's fitted with big, .91 gears. At the front of the car, familiar AlterKtion front-clip centers a beefy sway bar between adjustable Air Ride Technologies shocks. Opposite that clip, triangulated 4-link aligns two more Air Ride Technologies shocks behind welded subframe connectors. Modern power rack-and-pinion steering provides smooth turns and quick reflexes. Four Wilwood calipers utilize a Wilwood master cylinder and Hydratech hydroboost hydraulics to squeeze four drilled and slotted Wilwood rotors. Exhaust rolls from the aforementioned headers in to straight, arge-diameter pipes that are married to SPINTECH Performance mufflers. And at the corners of the chassis, atin Black Rushforth Rated-X spin 245/45ZR19 Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs in front of 255/45ZR20 Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs.
INTERIOR
Inside this awesome coupe, custom leather interior is clean, ell fitted and surprisingly simple. At the center of the cockpit, quartet of bucket seats centers tight, nake-inspired hides under small rivets and a stylish green accent. In front of those thrones, custom, reen-trimmed dash hangs Classic Instruments All American telemetry beside Kenwood touchscreen audio and controls for the car's modern heat and air conditioning. At the bottom of that dash, custom, ull-length console founds a Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter on fresh carpet that frames billet foot pedals. At the edges of that carpet, iveted side panels, hich mimic the outside of the car's doors, eat pistol grip handles in front of modern power windows. Above those panels, leather headliner flows to a custom package tray. In front of the driver, Flaming River steering wheel laps a tilting Flaming River column. And behind the passengers, custom upholstered trunk does a great job of hiding the car's battery.
