Description for Dodge Other Pickups 1955
Pretty nice old Dodge truck. 1955 with dump bed. The title says it is a C500. It is supposedly the first year for the V-8 engine for the Dodge truck. It is a 6 volt system. The last year for that, believe. I have had it running a few times and did drive it down the road and back. It does ride rough, ut it does have a flat tire on each side on the back. It runs and sounds good when idling but misses out on the road. I have replaced the plugs, oints (requires two sets of points), otor cap, istributor cap, gnition coil, uel pump and did have the master cylinder rebuilt by a friend of mine, ot a professional. The brakes still do not work. Probably needs a new master cylinder for one thing. The truck does take some coaxing to get started but runs fine after it starts. As long as it is idling. I am running it off of a gas jug, ot the tank. I am sure the fuel tank will need to be cleaned or replaced. The back glass is broken from top to bottom in the center of the glass. Doors open and close well. The dump bed does raise and lower, ll the transmission drive gears pull. I did not drive it far enough or fast enough to go through all the forward gears. It would be a nice old truck with some work. I do not know what is causing the miss. Possibly in the distributor or possibly stuck valve. I don't know. I do know that I am tired of working on it. I do have a clear title. I make no guarantees of any kind on the old truck. Any questions, lease ask and I will try and answer them. It also has a new 6 volt battery that cost well over $100.00. If the truck sells for over $650.00 I will let the battery go with the truck. If it does not, will keep the battery. There is a $200.00 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auctions end. Buyer is responsible for pick up and transportation.
