Description for Dodge Other 1971

Introducing my one bedroom shaggin' wagon! She's a1971 Dodge Tradesman B200 3/4 ton shorty, o side window, ustomized, ust-free, ime-capsule survivor van. So here are the details. She has wheel flares, hin spoiler, un visor and twin gold colored sky lights. The front bumper was replated and new door handles installed within the past year. The wheels and tires are new with the fronts at 245/60/15's and the rear's at 295/50/15's. Theside pipes are functional and give a nice meow sound that is quiet at idle but progressively louder at highway speeds. Auxiliary rear mounted 'lantern' running lights are mounted high up on the quarter panels and a Charger fuel filler cap replaces the original. The interior is fully customized with plenty of shag carpeting, he cabinetry is solid wood, ormica covers the ceiling, inoleum on the floor and the two front buckets swivel 360 degrees. What really makes this van special is that she iscompletely rust-free, nd what I believe to be the factory original paint!
This bad-ass van was born with a 225, 6 and automatic. At some point in 1976 or 1977, believe a factory replacement 318, 8 and 2 barrel carburetor engine was installed. This is a bone stock engine with the exception of headers and a Pertronix's. The engine runs flawlessly, he choke sets perfectly every time and the transmission shifts are firm and positive. The rear gearing is a highway friendly 2.76 which allowed me to get 16 MPG on my latest 250 mile trip to Carlisle, A. The power steering is quick and precise, he power front disc brakes stop the van smooth and straight every time, he air conditioning was converted to R134 and blows cold and the van has never overheated even on the hottest summer days and with the airconditioning on. The heater works as it should but because the engine runs cool, n the coldest of winter days the temperature of the hot air drops at highway speeds even with a 180 degree thermostat installed. The parking brake sets easily and holds firm and strong.
The shortcomings of the van are minor but important to mention. I get a drip or two of engine oil and transmission fluid on the floor. It doesn't happen consistently but seems to occur when the van sits for extended periods. Also, nce the van is started after sitting for a few weeks and you shift into Drive, t seems she takes a few moments for the gear to engage. Once engaged everything is fine until she sits again for an extended period. There are a few dings and lightscratches in the exterior paint work and the rearbumper and brake light chrome escutcheon could use areplating.
This van is a blast to drive and own, nd she is ready to drive, njoy and show right away.
