Description for Dodge Coronet 1966

1966 Dodge Coronet 440
Funds fell thru for my local sale, o I am relisting. Please do not bid if you are not serious about the car.
This car is NOT an R/T. R/T's did not come out until 67. I have never tried to put this off as an R/T, just liked the way it looked with the stripe and all.
Are you looking for a really cool Mopar that you just don't see much of anymore?? For sale is my 66 Coronet, 40, ith a 440CI engine, reshly rebuilt 727 transmission with reverse manual valve body, nd deep sump Mopar Performance trans pan, nd new 3800 stall converter. Car has an 8 3/4 differential, ith 3.55 gears and a spool. Trans is shifted via a B&M shifter. Engine has a Purple shaft 509 camshaft and was just repainted this past spring. New(last fall), s a Weiand tunnel ram package with twin Holley 600 carburetors with vacuum secondaries. Car runs great and is extremely streetable with the tunnel ram setup and gets so much attention and is a consistent show winner at the local shows, nd a best pick at the Ocean City May cruise. This is a true survivor car with spotless frame and floors with ZERO rust. I have never raced the car and only used it to cruise-in's and go to shows.
Interior has been almost completely redone. Last year I had both front and rear seats completely reupholstered in black and green to match the color combo of the car. New carpet was installed at that time and the floors are spotless. I sealed the floors interior before I put the carpet down. The door panels were not done, ut look great. I installed a new dash pad that goes all the way across the dash, nd installed a custom gauge cluster which you can see from the pictures. All new AutoMeter gauges(clock, uel, peedo, ach, il, olts, emp, rans temp), hich are wired into one single 11 pin plug. New Grant steering wheel installed too. I have the original steering wheel which goes with the car. I also have the original gauge cluster which goes too, nd an extra set of seat belts. I also have an original rear seat set which I picked up for cheap which goes with the car.
So, ou say you aren't quite sure about the tunnel ram setup and a huge hole in a black hood. Well, have the other hood, owl induction, hich you can see in some of the pictures, lus the Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a brand new Holley 750 with electric choke that goes with the car. One afternoon and you have performance right back under the hood with no hole. Best of both worlds. When I had the engine out detailing it, installed brand new Hedman ceramic coated headers, ew MSD ready to run distributor, ew MSD plug wires and new plugs. It has a new Summit internally regulated high amp alternator. External regulator and ballast resistor has been eliminated. All under hood wiring has been redone all the way back to the fuse block. New alternator brackets and upper and lower pulleys from 440Source. New battery tray also. New "Be Cool aluminum radiator, ew flexalite flex fan on engine side, nd a 16 inch electric pusher fan on the front side of the radiator. Car runs solid 185-195 degrees even in the summer. New Summit Racing mini, igh torque starter installed. Car has manual brakes and manual steering. Car has drum brakes on all 4 corners, hich were completely redone 1500 miles ago. New dual chamber master cylinder was installed at the same time. New transmission mount and engine mounts. 3 inch exhaust pipes from the headers to the Flowmaster Super 10 mufflers, hen 2 1/2 pipes over the axles back to the Roadrunner exhaust tips. Super skinny drag radials up front, nd BFG's out back. The tires in the rear, re as wide as you can go without doing a mini tub. They actually rub just a tad on leaning corners.
Headlights, arker lights, urn signals, ail lamps, rake lights, ll work perfect. Tail lights were just replaced with excellent used lenses(originals had stress cracks). Chrome trim at top and bottom of trunk are new repro pieces. Original trim around taillights, nd original grill. Front and rear bumpers were replaced too. All the other chrome trim that is on the car is in great original condition. I have not installed the window felt on each side of the rollup windows yet. Windshield and windshield gasket have been replaced. All the rest of the glass is in great shape.
This car is in great shape and is a consistent show winner. I have 12-13 plaques and trophies from just this year which go with the car, ncluding a "Best Pick" from the Decatur Diner at the Ocean City, ay Cruisin OC event this year. The car has only has a little over 2,200 miles on it since I did all of this. It sits in the trailer thru the week and I only have time for shows on the weekends. This is truly one to be seen............. Damn, know I am missing some things because I don't feel I have given enough information. Please hit me up with any question. I'm telling you this car will not be a disappointment, nd only provide you with enjoyment. Is this a concours show car? NO! But this is one of the best drivers you are going to run across at this price point, nd I go up against serious money cars every week at the shows, nd this car continues to perform.
