Description for Dodge Challenger 1971
There's no question that Chrysler knew how to build some awesome muscle cars during the peak of the era. This 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T, or example, ooks exceptionally sinister with its dark colors inside and out. Plus, t has a seriously upgraded V8 that gives it the power to back up its appearance. You know this car is going to be cool when it wears a hue called Ferrari Gray (originally coded TX9 black, his rare and true triple-black car could be a concours quality restoration candidate.) The new color was applied during recent high quality restoration. Once you look at all the details from the doorjambs to inside the trunk, ou'll be will convinced that this car has not only lived a good life, ut that someone spent plenty of money keeping this Mopar looking great. It was originally a 318 car, nd all the sheetmetal was the same, o when the engine was upgraded, o were the visuals. This includes the scooped hood with hood pins, complete set of black R/T stripes, hin spoiler, ear spoiler, nd the unmistakable red R/T emblems that give this car a slight pop of bright red like it was out for blood. Adding to this aggressive attitude is the fact that 1970 was the year for the split grille and split taillights. It made these coupes look so beefy that you'd swear they owned the whole road.Chrysler's black bucket seat interior gets high marks for both style and comfort, nd even today this is a great place to spend some quality time. It looks so clean and pristine that we suspect this got plenty of attention during the restoration. This is a muscle car with all-day cruiser kind of potential, o an AM/FM/CD player was installed for modern tunes. But really we know the sound you will always want to hear is the rumble out of the dual exhaust. One peek under the hood, nd you know this is an amazing performer. This is a 360 cubic-inch motor that was bored and stroked to go into big block territory. It now displaces 408 ci, ut the upgrade did not end there. The motor is running Keith Black pistons, ydraulic roller lifters, nd 1.6 roller rockers by Comp Cams. Plus the 340 X heads were refurbished with larger valves less than 300 miles ago. The fuel gets to the motor via Holley 750 Double Pumper carburetor that feeds the Edelbrock RPM intake. Sounds like a lot of power, ight? That's why it's mated to a TCI Torqueflite 727 three-speed automatic transmission. Truly, his is a sweet muscle car right down to its welded subframe and classic Rallye wheels. You can choose to show off this coupe as the amazingly restored Mopar this is (and we have the receipts and title documentation to prove it!) But there's also that prideful knowledge of owing an original triple-black car. There are a lot of great things about this Challenger, ut hurry up because you were not the only one to notice.
