Description for Dodge Polara 1969
Selling my '69 Polara Convertible, nbsp;one of only 972 built. Sold new in Greenville, X and was found less than 40 miles from the same location. Total production of this body style (Polara, olara 500, nd Monaco) was around 1,400 units, f which only a few hundred still exist.Original owner got too old to drive and parked it in a barn in 1990. He died and left the property, arn, nd car to his elderly neighbor who also left it in the barn until early this year when the barn started to fall down. He was rewarded for this by having a hail storm come through and knock out the back window, oor mirror, nd leave hail dings on the trunk, ood, nd fenders. In addition to the hail dings, t has a large (repairable) dent in the right fender, ust in the lower driver quarter panel and a rusty trunk lid & hood. I have good replacement sheetmetal (hood, enders, runk, uarter panel) for the car and it will all be included with it. It's wearing its original white paint, lue interior (seats need recovered) and 383 2bbl V8, 27 Automatic, .75" rear axle, tc. It has not been started since 1990, he engine, rans, nd rear axle all spin freely, ut after not running in so long there's no sense trying to drive it around without flushing the old fluids and going through things first. (especially the transmission)It has a few spots of pinhole rust in the trunk, nd small area of rust in the corner of the passenger front floorpan.. otherwise the floors are clean except some surface rust in spots. At a minimum, t will need a new top, ack window, eat covers, arpet, ires, rans overhaul, otal brake system rebuild, nd might as well figure on freshening up gaskets/seals in the engine to be safe. I do have two full sets of the original 15" hubcaps, s well as the original 15" skinny steel wheels. It is a power top, fter sitting so long the cylinders were frozen in place so I had to unhook them to make sure the top would function properly. The cylinders and top motor are fairly generic and not hard to find replacements for, hould they actually require replacement.****The car came from the factory with 2-speed wipers, anual steering, anual drum brakes on all four corners, nd no a/c. At no extra cost I can include the parts to convert it to 3-speed wipers, ower steering, power booster setup for the brakes, nd a dash from an a/c car... IF that is what the winning bidder desires. I DONT have disc brakes, r the parts to add a/c to it.****It may not be a Charger or Cuda, ut is definitely a rare car in its own right, nd no slouch with big-block power. Had another one 20 years ago and to date, t's still only the 3rd one I've ever seen in person. Overall, es it needs a total restoration to be "right", nbsp;but for a few grand it could be drivable and it's not missing anything.
