Description for Dodge Coronet 1969
This is a 1969 Dodge Coronet which was being converted into a Super bee. My son and I started this project but have simply run out of time due to our respective work schedules. I spent over ten years trying to locate a vehicle in this good of shape to work on. Overall. the car is in remarkable shape for being 45/46 years old. The car comes from here in Colorado. which usually has a very dry climate. Here on the Western Slope we have humidity that is often only in the single digits. so it's very dry which is obviously good for keeping any serious rust at bay. With the exception of replacing the original floor pan. there is virtually no serious rust on this car. All body panels are original and straight with the exception of the floor pans. There are two or three small areas needing work due to rust on the passenger side rear wheel well. There was some debris that wicked water into this tight space and it rusted through. but it is minimal. These areas have been cut out and we were using heavy fiberglass patching as opposed to welding due to concerns about warping any metal. We have the new floor pan as per the pictures. The paint is the original blue. What appears as rust in the photos is actually mostly primer with some minor surface rust here and there that hasn't been sanded off yet. This car has never had any wrecks and is as straight as an arrow. I was told that the two areas where there is some straightening needed. i. e. the drivers side front and drivers side rear were dented due to the driver at the time who backed into something. The actual damage is minimal. The doors are. likewise. free of rust. There are the usual shallow dings here and there that need minor filling. but again. nothing major. The only areas that I see that need any real work are the drivers side rear and front fenders as mentioned: I have a pic of the rear area I'm referring. The rear has been heavily fortified with fiberglass. as has the front. I love to work with fiberglass and restored a 65 Corvette. so I know how well this product works. I intend to sell this project as a unit. We have multiple new and used items included with the car. I have no intention of giving the car away. and have put in well over $11. 00 after I stopped counting to date. If I can't get a reasonable price out of it I will simply moth ball it until I have the time to work on it again. I have the car listed locally and reserve the right to sell it either way. Included in this auction are the following:440 Mopar Engine. "Hemi" 18 spline 4-speed transmission (all gears are sharp and it looks near new internally). Hurst reconditioned 4-speed shifter with linkage. $2000 black vinyl custom reupholstered diamond stitched front and rear seats rated for 18 degrees below zero (I think the front seats were originally from a Charger but were in the car when I bought it. the rear seat is the original from the car). Custom interior vinyl panels backed by ABS plastic (not the flimsy pressed cardboard originals). Edelbrock 750 carb. New Micky Thompson Sportsman S/T P295/50R15 Rear tires. New Micky Thompson Sportsman S/T P245/60R15 Front tires. New Crager Keystone Klassic "Snowflake" mags for the rear tires. Professionally polished lenses and reconditioned tail lights. Professionally polished and reconditioned rear window glass (All glass except the front windshield is original). New Sunpro Supertach III. New chrome exterior door handles. New interior window roll-up handles. Rallye Gauge set-up (I haven't put all this back together yet but the gauge faces and needles are all redone to original condition). Rallye Soft Dash pad set in exceptional condition. Ram Air Induction Underhood Unit (I haven't reassembled this but have reinforced it with fiberglass internally. the original was flimsy). New chrome lug nuts for all four wheels. All stainless steel/chrome has been professionally polished (I have yet to get the new door drip rail chrome but have all the rest of the trim). The front and rear bumpers should be rechromed to get to show quality but are straight and in good shape. Anyway. this is the basic information. If I can provide additional information or pictures. please let me know and I'll do my best to do so. I will be happy to assist with locating reasonable transportation but this will be at the buyers expense.
