Description for Dodge Charger 1973
Up for sale are two cars. The first car is a 1973 Dodge Charger SE. This car was originally green with green interior. I started this car as a project for my son and we have both lost interest and don't have the time and money to do it the way it needs done, lus I need the room in my shop. This car is currently in my shop torn apart in several pieces. The body is 90% stripped to bare metal. The front end is disassembled and the interior is out. I put a new floor pan on the drivers side, hat is completed. It will need a new floor pan on the passenger side as well. The area under the rear seat needs a couple patches also but is pretty solid. The trunk is solid. The car has the normal rust outs, hich are, ehind the rear tires down low, ight above the tire, nd the rockers panels have a pretty good size holes also. Both sides have pretty much the same rust spots and I tried to get some pics of the holes. There is some rust on the corners or the door, own low. There is some rust on the front fenders down low, ust behind the front tires on both sides, he rust on the front fenders is not significant though. The engine compartment is done with the exception of a small spot under the master cylinder which still needs attention. The compartment has been primed and painted lime green, hich is the color we were going to paint the car. A few items (the master cylinder, he heater fan, nd the wiper motor) have been rebuilt and installed in the engine compartment. This car has a rebuilt motor (a 400 cu. in.) that goes with it. I had the machine work done locally by a very experienced machinist that has done alot of work for me on my mopars over the years and I trust he did it right. The motor is stock with the exception of an RV cam I installed just for the sound and vacuum it produces. The motor has a brand new 4 barrel carb that I will let go as well. The motor has been primed and painted chrysler blue and it is literally ready to run. This car also has a newly rebuilt 727 tranny that goes with it as well. It was professionally rebuilt and the torgue converter is new also. Neither have ever been in a car.The interior is definitely worth keeping and can be reused if you want, s I stated above it is dark green in color. This car is taken apart right now but it is 100%complete as far as parts and I will reassemble the front end for transport purposes only. The next car is a 1974 Dodge Charger SE. It has the same rust spots as the 73. It is red in color with black interior. The interior is out because we were going to put it in the 73, ut I have it all. This car is complete. It has a small block 360 that does run but it runs like crap. I have driven this car before but is not road worthy. It has factory rally wheels.
I have $2000.00 tied up in the purchase of the cars and another $4000.00 tied up in the engine, ew tranny and new carb. for the 73 and body panels. I will sacrifice some but have to recupe some of it to make it right.
It is my BELIEF that both of these cars are numbers matching cars, ased on the numbers I ran on the engines and what I know of the previous owners, owever I AM NOT SELLING THEM AS NUMBERS MATCHING BECAUSE I HAVE NOT CHECKED OR VERIFIED IT.
I am in Indiana and you are more than welcome to come and look before buying. it is a 7 day auction with a reserve, s well as a buy it now. If we get close to the reserve I will lift the reserve. As I said before I need the money and the room for other projects.
It is also worth noting that the frame rails on the 73 are in pretty good shape. There is one small area on the front frame rail that will need patched. It will not require complete replacement. I have not even looked at the frame on the 74'. If you need more pics or need me to verify the condition of any one piece or area, ust send me a request.
These cars will make great restoration projects for anybody that is not afraid of this type of work.I will be happy to answer any questions or send more pics of specific areas if you want.
Happy Bidding!!!
