1988 DODGE RAM 50...aka mitsubishi mighty max

Happy little truck that loves to start.

HAS ISSUES:

Potentially dangerous, pitman arm needs to be replaced. I bent two pitman arm pullers trying to remove it. Very sloppy steering. It is under carb and fuel lines so I didn't want to use heat. A new pitman arm goes with truck.

Weber carb, I think, maybe EMPI, see pictures. In need of rebuild.

Total tune up needed.

Paint is actually good. Roof and hood need painting.

Head lights are H4, one Bosch and one Hella. They are glass.

Pacesetter headers and exhaust. Noisy. Header muffler flange had lower piece rust out. I replaced with split flange and gasket. I believe it had internal ball and socket fitting which rusted away.

Sometimes the key needs to be jiggled.

Every now and then the starter does not engage with flywheel, but it always starts.

Surface rust on wipers and bumpers ( see photo of rear bumper ) with no rust through on body.

Oil leak from head cover gasket. It has half moon on back which needs silicon to not leak. Tried with two gaskets with no luck.

Has air conditioner but is not working.

Seat needs to be reupholstered.

Just to little time to keep up with it...the truck needs younger and better mechanic owner.
