Description for Dodge Other 1976
1976 Dodge Custom Van, Rare period correct time piece built by the famous "Hooper" who built "Nautilus" and a few of the most significant customs of the 70s. Very Well known has been in a few Magazines and Shows. Recently took 3rd place in modified Vans at the 2015 Nationals and it is not even finished. Was originally know as "Phantoms Castle" Someone can really take this Van to the next level and I hope the new owner will preserve and restore this amazing Hot Rod. Body has Custom Chopped Top, Shaved Door Handles, Shaved Gas Cap, Shaved Marker Lights, Molded rear bumper, Custom 71 Dodge Charger Hideaway Grille with working Lights, motor works fine (Grille Alone would be about $3000 not counting install) Custom Flares, Front Spoiler, Custom Gull Wing Side and Rear door, to have anybody do this today you would be looking at an easy $15,000 in body work alone. I have had other vans and to get them to look cool, it starts adding up very quick. This is the only way to get them is when someone like myself is letting one go because they have to. I do not have room for the Van and if I don't move it, I might be sleeping in it. Original 318 V8 runs good, Torque flight trans shifts good, brakes are good etc. lights work, Blinkers work and Motor for flipping lights works, blinkers work, temp gauge works, Oil Pressure gauge works, fuel gauge does not..well sometimes it does. NO A/C, you could ad vintage air if you wanted. Period correct steering wheel, not a new re-man. Dual pwr Antennas Dual Sunroofs, One split w fixed windows over driver and passenger side, One Tilt up in bed area. Neither leak Custom Overhead Console with Stereo and CB Radio, both work fine. Gull Wing Side door is Fiberglass with electricswitch to open. Rear Gull Wing door is metal, uses manual latch and has struts that could use replacing, will hold door up but not all the way. The rear window does have some minor rust around the glass, not a big deal though. Beautiful Crager Wire Wheels in Excellent shape with spinners. Mastercraft Avenger GT tires in almost new condition, rears are Fat 295s fronts are 235s Chrome Patriot side Exhaust headers Rear Axle truss with Traction Bars Van is a 1976 so body has your normal minor cracks in fiberglass etc, very little rust around rear window. Nothing serious if the new owner wants to repaint etc. This is a 40 year old Hot Rod custom. It is not a new vehicle, please keep this in mind. Custom Interior with Castle theme, rear doors go to comfortable bed with storage underneath and rear sunroof. Bed area needs some minor work, only one side Stone wall is up, I do have the other, justhaven't put it up yet. I was going to have the inside stone look custom airbrushed to look aged etc and add Bar and sink with cooler to have to whole van completed. if you want change the interior the stone walls to shag carpet and fur the stone walls can come down very easily. It's obvious there is a ton of time and money invested in this custom van. These aregetting harder and harder to find. This is a great opportunity for the new owner.
