This is a story about a car. In 1985 I was 11 years old, and rode with my father to pick up an old red hot rod he was buying. It was shiny, slick, and fast as hell. My father passed away recently, and I have decided to sell the car so I can fix up the family house. But this is no ordinary car. There are only 37 of these licensed in the USA. Of those, many are probably not in good condition. Is this car perfect? No. But will it turn some heads? You betcha. People aggravate me to death when I take the car out. They want to take pictures, ask questions, and many want to buy it. The car is just about as rare as an old muscle car can get, and chances are... you won't see another for sale in your lifetime.It has a freshly rebuilt 440 motor that runs like brand new, with less than 500 miles. However, the new owner of the car can have with it the original 383 motor if they want to go back to numbers matching. It has a 727 transmission, 2 four barrel carbs, and all the power you will ever need. It starts and runs great, but like most old cars, you have to let it warm up about 10 minutes before taking off. Then it really purrs. I literally have someone trying to buy this car from me every day. But in rural KY, they just can not offer what this car is worth on the national market. So here is your chance to finally own the car you dreamed of as a kid.The body is excellent. No rust, the car has never been wrecked, and the paint is bright and shiny. There are a few chips on the drivers door that have been touched up. Otherwise the paint is perfect. The interior has been redone in the original style, and it looks sharp. The pics dont really do the interior justice, because the sunlight made the pics a little weird. It has a nice CD player, new electronic guages. I am also throwing in the original rally wheels, and the original hurst gearshift. The trunk is in good condition with no rust, and the frame looks good underneath. Now the negatives. I am still having some wiring issues. I paid a guy quite a bit to rebuild the carbs, and get all of the wiring straight for the car to run. But the stereo does not have power, and some of the lights are acting strange. The brakes and steering are a bit loose. I will try to correct some of these issues as money permits, but the closer I get the car to finished, the less willing I will be to negotiate. I think it is fair to say the car is 95% restored. It is absolutely drivable just as it is, and believe me... you will get some attention. If you want a small project and something to tinker around with... this car is perfect for you.Now I myself am not really an old car kinda person. I drive a Toyota, because it starts and runs every single time I get in it. Older vehicles can be a little temperamental. But if you want a street legal 13 second car, here it is. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will answer as best as I can. But I am full aware of the value of the car, and will not be selling it cheap. Please, please don't waste my time with half price offers. I will steadily lower the price if it does not sell. But I am pretty sure it will. As you can see, I have a nearly perfect feedback rating. Only 1 negative in 10 years. Some guy wanted something for nothing and left a negative on me. I have been as honest as possible about the condition of the car, and will continue to do so as we communicate. I have sold other cars here to happy customers. Good luck, and thanks for looking.
