Shelby Dakota Resto-Rod. This is an original Shelby Dakota but it was restored to sound and accelerate like a Shelby Cobra wrapped in a truck body. It does not have power steering nor heat or AC but is much easier to get in and out of than a Cobra!. Truck started with a clean no-rust body and has been restored with new brakes, front end steering, exhaust, engine, tranny, etc. The engine installed was a Blue Print 408 stroker dyno'd at just over 400 horsepower. It is backed by a beefed up 904 automatic built by Pete Dambaugh with a reverse manual valve body and a Cheetah shifter. Mechanically, this truck has only a few thousand miles since the restoration. The interior is original and in excellent condition and includes an authentic Shelby signature on the dash. Modifications include true dual exhaust with ceramic coated headers, glass packs and quad side exit tips. Sound is truly awesome, like a beast! Additional modifications include March engine pulley system, front grill mesh for protection of the electric cooling fans, traction bars and a custom paint scheme. The overall paint is an excellent driver, near OEM quality but not to a high-end show level. Engine is very smooth and powerful and the transmission shifts hard and firm as it is supposed to. This truck is literally a blast to drive and really draws attention. If you are craving an old school Hot Rod with some legitimate Shelby history, this is it!! I have owned this Shelby for about four years and now it is time for somebody else to enjoy. The truck is located just south of Atlanta and will be available for immediate pick up after the auction. Payment must be in cash or certified bank check and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will sign over the title once that I have been paid. A $1,000 deposit will be due within 24 hours after the end of the auction.
