Description for Dodge Coronet 1965
Offered is an unrestored 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible. The car is complete, but not running and needs restoration. The body is in excellent condition with minimal spots of rust. The floor pan is excellent as well with only minor spots of surface rust. There is no rust-through of any kind on this vehicle. The engine is a 440 cubic inch V-8 from a 1968 Dodge - the engine has a D code stamp. The car comes with a stock automatic transmission as well as a period correct Mopar 4 speed transmission and Hurst shifter which is in serviceable condition therefore allowing for a manual floor shift conversion if desired. The body panels are straight and all gaps are good and all doors, hood and decklid work well. In addition, the vehicle comes with a spare driver's side door and two additional front fenders complete with trim. Over the years, I collected additional parts as they became available even though the primary body components are are excellent. All of the chrome and stainless trim is with the car; all of the trim items are excellent with various N.O.S items. One particular goodie is the N.O.S. deck lid emblem unique to the 500 top of the line series convertible. Also included is an original Mopar dealer parts book and advertising brochures. The engine comes with extras as well: two sets of rebuilt heads, multiple types of valve covers and two sets of factory original cast iron headers for 440 c. i. Mopar Magnum engines. The front end has been rebuilt and various body parts were underway with new restoration and paint (ie: underside of hood and decklid). The interior parts are complete but needing restoration and reupholstering. The bucket seat parts are solid and the rear seat springs are usable for patterns. The car came with tinted glass option. All dash board components are there. I have multiple steering wheels. The top bows and irons are serviceable but do need reworking. The grille is in excellent condition and there are two sets of side bezels for the headlights, two of which are N.O.S. The door handles work fine and are in good condition. The differential is stock non-posi unit in good condition. The car has been continually under cover and has been in storage for over a decade. The car has a California title and has both black original license plates. It has become apparent that I will not be able to finish this project; so it is offered here for your consideration.
