1966 Dodge D-100 Sweptline Custom Cab 4x2 longbox pickup truck. Only 59,000 original miles only 2-owners. Original west coast truck, hasn't been subjected to midwest winter salt filled roads. THE TRUCK IS AN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR. Never restored except for the seat has been reupholstered. The paint is ORIGINAL with a little bit of patina. ROCK SOLID FLOORS FRONT TO REAR!! As well as the frame, frame rails, cab extensions and cab corners. There are three MINOR spots of rust. Bottom corner of both doors as shown, and one spot at rear of box at the very bottom as shown. I WANT TO STRESS...VERY MINOR RUST!!! All in all the body is in very good shape. There are a couple creases and a minor dent or two, but for being a 51 year old truck it's very nice. The truck is in need of an exhaust system. The tires are very good and I DO have the chrome grill and headlight surrounds that go with the truck. The rear bumper is missing and I do not have it.
MECHANICAL. The truck runs and starts just fine. But at an idle there's a miss fire that could possibly be related to a new distributor that was installed by the previous owner. Otherwise the truck runs right down the road, shifts very well and stops just fine. There is a new slave cylinder and the clutch feels good. Also, the rear main seal will need replacement soon. The motor is the original poly 318 V8 with a 4-speed transmission. There is an aftermarket Weiand 4-barrel intake installed.
Is this truck perfect? NO!! But for never have been restored it's in great shape given it's 51 years of life. If you know anything about these trucks, it's rare to find one in this shape for sure, as rust free and clean as it is!!!
