Classic Mopar fans, we have another one for you here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars, a 1966 Dodge Charger Two-door Hardtop that is finished in a stunning silver exterior with black interior combination. This original body style Charger has been nicely restored with with very nice paint and a fresh motor.
Built at Chrysler’s Lynch Road, Michigan factory on April 19, 1966, this car left the factory with the following options: 383 CID V-8 with four-barrel carburetor and a 10.0:1 compression ratio, A727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission, special buffed paint, two-watt AM radio, center console with vinyl front bucket seats and left-hand remote sideview mirror. The transmission was initially referred to in consumer-oriented publications as the "TorqueFlite 8" to differentiate it from the A904. This car has a 3.23 rear end.
The silver paint and trim are still in very good condition, as are the clear and intact windows and the lights. The headlights are hidden behind twin panels flanking the grille, evoking an “electric shaver” look when closed – a 1960s style trend.
The car rolls on Hankook Optimo 215/75R14 tires at all four corners. The tires surround factory wheel covers with spinner center caps. The body panels are straight and solid. The deceptively roomy cargo area is in good shape, the engine bay is very tidy, the bumpers are in very good order and the battery looks good.
Inside, the interior is original and the black front and rear bucket seats still look excellent overall. The black carpet is in very good order and the black headliner looks good, too. Even the courtesy lights still work when the doors are opened. The instrument panel looks mod and the original three-spoke steering wheel is present. The inner door panels complement the rest of the interior and they are in very good order. There is another storage area behind the fold-down rear seats. The mirror glass, center console and shifter are all in good condition.
Competition to this Dodge in 1966 included the Avanti II, Chevrolet’s Chevelle SS-396 Sport Coupe, Ford’s Thunderbird Hardtop Cruise-O-Matic, Oldsmobile’s 442 Cutlass Sports Coupe and Shelby’s Mustang GT350 Cruise-O-Matic.
This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows
13,068 miles and are not actual. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
