Description for Dodge Other Pickups 1965
NO RESERVE! FREE DELIVERY!I purchased this truck a little over two years ago from the California desert. I bought it sight unseen and at the time it was sublime green. The paint on this truck was crappy at best and needed to be redone. I can tell you that this truck had no rust and never seemed to have any. Other then terrible paint the only thing the body needed was some small dings and scratches repaired. This work was done by me and a retired body man helping me. Most of the paint was removed body work done and then was taken to a paint booth where a professional paint job was done. This paint is about 6 months old. The tailgate opens but there are no straps to keep it from opening to far. This truck has an assigned vin from the state of Nevada. I have the original vin tag but the numbers are not legible. I'm sure that's the reason for the new vin. The gas pedal has been repaired and works but supposedly Van's is coming out with a new reproduction at the end of January and I was going to get a new one.
Years ago a 1975 440 engine was installed into this truck. This engine runs smoothly and seems to be in stock condition with no modifications. Behind it is a 727 automatic that also shifts as it should. Even the kick down linkage is working. There is an 83/4 sure grip which I believe are 355 gears. The entire drive train is quiet and operates smoothly. I have driven this truck extensively with no real issues. I do think on a 90 degree day in traffic there is a potential to overheat which I'm sure could be fixed with an electric fan something I just never got around to.
Driving this truck is an absolute blast. The 440 engine in this small little truck is extremely peppy as you would think it should be. If you have ever driven a vehicle with a straight front axle you know they will wander a little but this one actually drives fairly straight. The brakes stop this truck as well as to be expected.
The interior seats have been recovered. The carpet is newer as well as the headliner. The doors shut as they should and the windows roll up and down nicely. Most of the factory gauges are working with the exception of the temp and amp gauge. Lights wipers and most accessories seem to be working as they should
Every where I have gone in this truck it draws a lot of attention.Unless your a mopar guy most people don't even know what it is.The paint is very nice driver quality with hardly any flaws. I have tried to be honest and value my feedback but this truck is over 50 years old and I could have missed something. I strongly recommend a visual inspection and if that isn't possible at the very least call me and I will give you an honest description. This truck is being sold where is as is and no warranties have been written expressed or implied. To receive free delivery this truck must be paid for in advance.
