Description for Dodge Other Pickups 1971
Ever wondered what it would be like to be on the air strip at Edwards Air Force Base back in the day? With Chuck Yaeger breaking the sound barrier and the guys with “The Right Stuff”? Well this truck was there! This is a 1971 Dodge D200 Crew Cab ex-Air Force rig and the previous owner said it came from famous Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County, CA. It is a California truck and is amazingly clean.
This is a perfect starting point for an ICON type restoration with a modern Cummins diesel on a current frame or just drive it as-is with the awesome patina.
These trucks always rust in the steps and the cab corners but this one is totally solid in those areas. The only rust we can find on the truck is a little in the floor pans under the throttle pedal and some in the back-seat area. It is a little beat up here and there but has no major hits.
The truck runs and drives pretty good but would want to at least go through the brakes before driving it on the road. It has a 318 auto in it that is a stout combo for these trucks. The Air Force made these things tough and it has the unbreakable Dana 60 in the back with 8 lug axles front and back.
Please e-mail us to set up an appointment to see the car. Feel free to ask any questions about the car. My number is 206-790-1063 if you want to call with questions. The car is located in Olympia, Washington, which is about an hoursouth of Seattle, Washington and an hour and a half north of Portland, Oregon right off I5. We also have a clean 68 Crew Cab in a little worse shape if anybody is interested.
Every effort has been made to make an accurate description of this car, but some things were probably missed. This is a project truck and this is being sold with no warranties expressed or implied.
We accept Money Orders, Cashier's Check, or Wire Transfer. A $500.00 nonrefundable deposit must be made within 48 hours of the auction ending. Payment must be made withinseven days of the auction finishing. The car must be either shipped or picked up within thirty days of the auction finishing. We reserve the right to end the auction and cancel bids at anytime as the car is for sale locally.
People always stress out about shipping something like this but trust us it is WAY cheaper to ship a car then to fix a ton of rust. We have used a broker a few things that we really trust so please contact us for his number. He makes the process super easy and can send it anywhere in the US (or even Internationally!).
