From the 1965 to 1975 model years the name was on intermediate-sized models. A coronet is a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed on a metal ring.Fifth generation (1965–1970) The Coronet received complete redesigns in 1968. As in 1967, the 440ci RB V8 was only available in the Coronet R/T in 1968. The 440 Magnum (4bbl) was reserved for just the Coronet R/T.MechanicalThis is a numbers matching great car for anyone who loves the 1968 Coronet R/T's. It's a great color combination as well as drive train. The car runs and drives very strong however needs some tune up and TLC. The engine sounds very solid and runs strong. The transmission shifts as it should. Previous owner painted the engine Hemi Orange but you can clearly see the VIN stamp is original and I have up close pictures of areas of the block showing the original Teal color. Original numbers matching 440 engineOriginal Hemi 4 speed transmission that shifts great.Original 3.54 Dana that sounds quiet. The original exhaust manifolds, intake manifold, air cleaner, radiator, shroud, etc. it's all there. Also this car hasn't been hacked on so the original footprints are all there to restore back to OE condition.Exterior The body overall is in really great shape. All of the trim is on the car except for the rear wheel opening moldings. All glass is good except the windshield is cracked. All windows roll down nicely. This is an undercoated car from the factory with nice floors, rails, front aprons. Solid and nice fenders, doors, hood, deck lid. Small hole in driver's floor that needs patched. Rest of floors still have nice Red paint on them. PP1 bright red paint with black vinyl top and black Bumble Bee stripe. Straight driver quality chrome and trim. Original wheel covers and wheels.
