Description for Dodge Challenger 1970
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 44000 Original Miles!!!
Up for bid is an absolutely beautiful 1970 Challenger R/T with 44,000 Original Miles. The car runs and drives like new, everything works even the buzzer for the key. The car has numbers matching 383 4 barrel, it came originally with a 3 speed (one of 355 built with a 383 3 speed combo), but currently has a 4 speed with a correct pistol grip shifter. Air Conditioning, Manual 11" Drum Brakes, Manual Steering.
I purchased the car a year ago and have put less than 200 miles in the last year. I purchased the car from a good friend of mine who purchased the car from a Dealership in California in 2012. He remembered the car when he was going to college at New Mexico State in 1974, he had installed a power antenna in the car, which is still in it today. The car belonged to a friend of his who was from Phoenix. The car was purchased new from Valley Dodge in Phoenix on 3/27/1970. The car was sold to 1/LT Joseph Landensack. My friend stated that he remembers that the car had a 4 speed back in 1974, so the transmission swap was done very early in the car's life.
The car has had one repaint, I believe it was in the mid-1990's, it is completely rust free. I also believe the engine was freshened up as well in the mid-1990's. The car is well document with the original broadcast sheet, build plate and sales information with the owner's manual. I have a copy of a window sticker but I believe it was a reproduction because it doesn't match the build sheet 100%. The items that don't match are the wheels, mirrors and the 4 speed. The interior has the original seats, headliner, and console. The door panels were replaced by my friend since the original ones were a little chalky. The tires were replaced early last year and only has a few hundred miles on them. I replaced the AC compressor and dryer bottle last fall, the system still needs to be charged. Apart from that the car really needs nothing, just turn the key and enjoy. I have set the reserve for less than what I paid for the car. Please ask questions. The car is absolutely beautiful, I do not believe you will be disappointed. Would make a great Father's day gift!
I have a loan on the car and it will take a couple of weeks to get the title to the new owner.
