Description for Dodge Challenger 1970
Check out this sweet ride! Up for sale we have a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in the very beautiful and eye-catching Vitamin C Orange. This car has a 383 engine and an automatic transmission. The car has a mild cam and aftermarket exhaust (which sounds mean!) The car runs and drives good with plenty of power for its age. The car is believed to be numbers matching and has a tag on the fender to verify. The underneath of the car is very nice as well as the trunk and under the hood as you can see in the pictures. The car has no rust on it anywhere that we know of. we would consider the condition as a nice driver not a trailer queen. It does need some cosmetic things like the factory radio needs replaced and it has a crack in the dash. Then again if the car were close to a trailer queen it would be worth three times what we are looking to get out of it. We are liquidating a collection and will be listing several other classic cars so please feel free to check out our other auctions. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and we will help in any way possible. Rolling on a longer wheelbase (110 inches. compared to 108). the Challenger appeared in hardtop and convertible forms with either six-cylinder or V8 power. A prestigious Special Edition sports hardtop and performance-conscious R/T package also were available either separately or together. Standard for the R/T. offered from 1970 to ’71. was the 335-horsepower 383 Magnum V8. R/T options included the 375-horse 440. 390-horse 440 Six Pack. and 425-horse 426 Hemi. Dodge’s 275-horse 340-cid small-block V8 was optional for non-R/T Challengers. A 290-horsepower 340 fitted with three two-barrel carburetors was the exclusive engine for the limited-edition Challenger T/A. built for 1970 only. The V8-powered Challenger Rallye hardtop was the hottest model available from 1972 to ’74. and the 340 small-block remained the strongest engine during those years after the Hemi and 440 big-block were dropped after 1971. By far the most coveted Challenger was 1970’s Hemi R/T convertible—only nine were built.
