Description for Dodge Dart 1969
The listing incorrectly says Swinger, the car is a Dart Custom.I have owned this Dart for approximately 13 years. Beautiful car that is only driven on nice days to shows and cruises. The 408 was built by Mike Ware at Muscle Motors about 8 years ago and has approx 8k miles on it. Mike did a basic port job on the W2 heads and they are using Harland Sharp rocker arms. Ported Edelbrock Victor intake manifold. The motor made 530 hp / 540 ft lbs on the engine dyno.
TTI headers and TTI exhaust with X pipe. TCI Super Street Fighter 727 with Dynamic 9.5" converter and 3:55 sure grip. Very healthy idle with a solid flat tappet Comp Cam .597/.585 lift 259/264 duration @ .050 Steel hood with SS scoop and custom air-box feeds the Holley 750 HO style double pumper. Only down the track 4 times with the best being a 11.2 @ 118, car weighed in at 3450 lbs. More in it with some tuning but I use the car primarily to cruise and show.
V8 torsion bars, Spring N Things HO rear leafs and weld in sub frame connectors with KYB Gas A Just shocks. Converted to disc brakes up front using 73+ A body spindles. Firm Feel front sway bar. Big bolt pattern Yukon axles with Green bearings and rear drums. 255/60/15 Mickey Thompson ET Streets on steelies on the rear and Weld Drag stars in the front.
Factory B5 with two tone blue interior. The car is originally a Dart Custom 273 car, it is originally a bench seat column shift car with factory rear defrost(functional). Originally a power steering car but it has been removed and replaced with a Flaming River manual box. Gas tank and all lines were replaced during the motor build. Battery relocated to the trunk.
The heater box was restored when the 408 was installed with all new seals, heater core and blower motor. The new blower motor locked up last winter and I have not replaced it yet. Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator, factory clutch fan. New engine harness installed when the 408 was installed. RevNator ignition with Mopar Performance mechanical advance distributor that is locked out.
I converted the car to factory bucket seats and console, seat covers are Legendary and the fronts are their Rallye seats with extra bolstering. Car has a replica Tuff wheel currently installed but the factory wood steering wheel will come with the car (needs to be restored to be perfect).
The car will also come with a matching Swinger / GTS hood (will not currently fit with the carb spacer I am running). The steelies on the rear are actually body color they have just been plasti-dipped black. I have a matching set of front steelies and a full set of dog dish hub caps to go with the car. I also have the power steering box and pump that can go with the car.
This car has been my pride and joy for the 13 years I have owned it. Nothing has been untouched since my ownership other than the paint which was redone before I got the car. The car is not a perfect show car with minor imperfections but will do great at any shows it goes too.
After 13 years and many files full of receipts I am sure I have missed somethings. I recommend inspecting the car in person, car is sold as is. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping of the vehicle.
