Description for Dodge Challenger 1973
I rescued this car from a junkyard that purchased it from the original owner in 1986 and returned it to running/driving condition. I drove it for ten years w/ the intention of “never selling it” and doing a complete restoration. Circumstances intervened and now it is available for a new Mopar loving fan to finish what I did not. As best as can be determined. this has always been a southern car. Drive Train The engine is intact w/ all factory installed components. but will need rebuilding; I was told that it possibly has a burnt valve or two (although the car was scary fast!) I have not attempted to crank it; I last had it running about 6 years ago. Interior The two front seats will definitely need the center sections recovered. the back seat is intact. The headliner also will need replacing as well. The dash pad has two cracks and is not the original. nor is the carpet. The door panels are slightly sun-faded at the top. the driver’s armrest has a small split. the console is intact. I may still have the original radio (will check). Body The body has a few minor dents as befitting a 42 year old car. but there are no rusted out fenders or quarters. the frame rails and floor pans are solid; all trim is present. The (white) side seam vinyl top has been removed. The trunk floor pan will need repair due to rust out in one corner. and there is a very small rust hole on the right sail panel (see pix). The deck lid and gas cap are not original. and the car has an authentic YearOne T/A spoiler. The original jack and the remains of the trunk mat are present as well. The driver’s remote mirror works well. Glass The front windshield is cracked and will need replacing. but all other glass is good. all windows roll up/down without problems. Payment Please note that there is a $500 non refundable down payment (via PayPal) due within 48 hours of auction ending; balance due payable via cashiers/certified check or cash within 10 days of auction ending and prior to delivery. A Bill of Sale will be provided. as Georgia does not require titles for vehicles older than 25 years of age. and mileage is EXEMPT. This car is for sale AS IS w/ NO warranty expressed or implied; the buyer is responsible for arranging pick-up and transport. The car currently is NOT running and will need restoration. I have described it as honestly as I can and to the best of my knowledge; please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. I have a few additional pictures that can be emailed. if requested. Thanks for looking and Best of Luck on bidding!
