Description for Dodge Challenger 1971

Genuine Special Edition. The SE has smaller rear window, cloth headliner and overhead console. Has performance built 383 too. EXTERIOR: Rare butterscotch color. It is actually a really straight, nice fitting body with a very smooth glossy paint. All Special Editions came with a vinyl top. It was easier for the factory to cover the modifications made for the smaller window then it was to finish it it nice enough for paint. When this car was repainted the vinyl top... was removed and around the window was finished smooth. This is the only SE with a painted roof I've seen. Has the R/T stripes on the sides, sport mirrors and a dual snorkel hood scoop. Upfront it has the rare chrome trim extensions on the hood and front fenders. It has 15 inch rims painted to match the car with mint poverty hubcaps and Cooper tires. Tail panel and grill look nice. Has the correct square exhaust tips coming through the valance. INTERIOR: Interior is very nice. The original plastic door panels and console are excellent. The SE has the overhead console and the cloth headliner is in excellent shape. The dash has been reupholstered in leather. Original steering wheel is in good shape. Upholstery and carpet are very good. Instrument area is not beat up. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has a built 383 motor with Edelbrock high rise aluminum intake with a big dual feed Demon carb. It also has Edelbrock e-street aluminum heads, Billet distributor and MSD coil. Has a set of Hooker headers. It's kept cool with a polished aluminum radiator, twin electric fans and an aluminum water pump. It has chrome pulleys with serpentine belt system. Alternator looks new. Has power steering. The engine bay is clean metal, painted nicely. Has the original fender tag. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: I just opened the trunk and it presents itself very well. It's painted, has a new mat. The jack is in it's correct location, has a spare bottom of the trunk lid has new decals also has a new weather strip UNDERSIDE: Has a real fat exhaust with stainless Magnaflow mufflers and resonators. Sounds great. Overall solid, frame rails look good. Has 2 floor pan sections replaced. New shocks at all 4 corners. New sway bar bushings in front. Bottom of motor is spotless. Has 727 Torqueflite trans. I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now.
