Description for Dodge Dart 1970
I bought this car about a year and a half ago to use as a parts car. It has an 8 3/4 Posi rear end that I wanted for another project. The photos on E-Bay looked pretty bad as I'm sure they do in these photos. But when I got the car I was a bit surprised. YES!!! it has rust. But someone had begun restoring the car. The engine compartment and cowl seemed rust free. The floors seemed OK and the top and back window where solid. This is usually where rust really likes to live in these cars. The rear quarters back on both sides is another story save for the rear valance and the trunk door. My initial intent was to take the rear end out and sell the car for parts. I realized this was a true "h" code 340 car. Sublime green with a center console shift and a Posi 8 3/4 rear end with 3:91 gears. Black bucket seats. this car must have been a beauty when it came off the showroom floor. It must have also been a real street killer leaving Camaros and mustangs in its wake. I could not bring myself to tear it apart then dump its remains. It is my true hope that someone will agree with me and buy this car to restore back to its former glory. The value of "A" bodies have gone up to the point where it now makes sense to bring this car back. I think the car deserves the chance. I am in my sixties and realize I cannot do the work myself. I also have a 70 Cuda which is about 80% restored. In my part of the country almost all of the paint and body guys are crap ( Sorry ) been thru 3 of the best in my hometown with the Cuda. car still needs attention (Long and Sad story). I really can't go thru that again with this car. It just takes all the fun out of it to have someone promise you good work and deliver well you get my meaning. Taking the Cuda out of state to get finished and that will end my restoration hobby. SO if you have the ability or the means PLEASE consider saving this car. I think it will be worth it. P. S I do not have the motor. I do have the trans. center console and a bunch of parts which I can photo if you are really interested. Car is located in Arizona and I am in California. I plan on going back to Arizona with the Cuda in a couple of weeks and can do more photos then. E-mail me with any questions I will do my best to answer. Thanks for taking the time to look at this car. One last thing. If you have a rating of less than 10 I will decline your offer. even buy it now. I will dispute.
