Description for Dodge DK 1932
Some classics just do it right when it comes to making sure they look authentic without appearing too tired or over-restored. This 1932 Dodge DK Eight Sedan hits this sweet spot, which is particularly tough to accomplish with a pre-WWII sedan. This was built during The Great Depression, but Dodge refused to lose its flair. This is a festival of cheerful color as the cream paint makes for nice base to showcase some intricate work. The first thing you'll notice is a rich burgundy that flows over the fenders along the running boards. The same burgundy makes a dash across the hood while helping to outline the roof section. But the upper half of the main body is finished in a glossy black. If that wasn't already intricate enough, you're going to notice plenty of thin red pinstriping on top of the burgundy all over the car. This bolder red coordinates with the wheel trim. It's a very thoughtful total package, and it has just the right amount of ageing that some people will walk away thinking they saw an exceptional survivor. So you're already going to be in love with the paint before you even check out the details, like the wave-like bumpers, ram hood ornament (its first year), and wooden 12-spoke wheels with classic whitewall (including the full-size spare in the rear.)
Open the suicide doors, and the level of authenticity makes it feel like 1932 inside. This has a great classic motoring experience with the large grippy steering wheel, real wood in the trim, and a swing out windshield for plenty of ventilation. While the corduroy cloth on the seats was replaced, it was done with a careful eye. So the presentation is just enough ago to erase decades of use, but long enough time has passed so peering eyes will likely assume it's all original.
Under the hood is a motor you'll love showing off. After all, the full green package is quite bold against all the exterior colors, and this one looks like there has been some great care of the last nine decades. Plus, there's always something quite striking about the long block of a straight eight motor. This 282 cubic-inch unit is correct for the car, and it gives this classic powerful legs. The three-speed automatic transmission gives you firm control, and the hydraulic brakes are quite handy.
There's something special about a car like this. You'll love it for everything from parades to Sunday drives. So if you enjoy true classic motoring, call today!
