Description for Dodge Charger 1971
Beautiful 1971 V-Code Charger R/T 440-6, automatic, 8.75 limited slip axle, stripe delete, numbers matching and 24,400 original miles documented on the latest 2019 Florida title. There were 98 R/T V-code automatics made in 1971, and this example is nothing short of outstanding. The car has just completed an extensive five year rotisserie restoration with absolutely nothing spared. The car is very unique in many ways, and if you desire documentation then you will be impressed, its highly documented with all the original 1971 paperwork which includes the following:
Original 1971 title
Original window sticker
Original dealer invoice
Original dealership issued broadcast sheet and also a second one from inside the car.
Original Consumer info Braking and Acceleration Performance document with vehicle vin identified.
Original Chrysler Corp warranty paper with vehicle vin identified.
Original Owners Manual
Original Business Card of the Dodge Dealer Salesman who sold car to the first owner in 71.
The car was ordered and the first owner wanted it his way. I have performed many inquires and a search of the 71 Charger registry regarding the 98 1971 V-code automatics, and the item that makes this car rare is that it has an option that I have not been able to find on any of the other 98 V-code automatic R/T's. That option is it has a column shift automatic. That would mean the console is deleted, and instead of nothing in the middle, the car was ordered with the C21 option, which is the arm rest and buddy seat between the front buckets. I'm open to being shown legitimate documentation of another V-code with a column shift and the C21 option, otherwise the only evidence I can find is this car is a one of one regarding these items.
The extensive restoration was performed professionally and involves way to much to list everything that has been done, but I assure you nothing was missed. The car was 100% still original when bought, the first owner passed away couple years after purchase in 71 and the car had been kept and stored by the family until I purchased it in 2015. All the original components were restored where possible or otherwise replaced new. Since the completion of the restoration the car has been driven about 12 miles. The pictures do not do it justice, the car is even more beautiful in person and people give it the highest complements.
