Description for Dodge Charger 1970
1970 Dodge Charger RT Project CarClear Title!!Up for auction is your chance to buy a rare 1970 Dodge Charger RT that I am listing for a friend. The car is located in Crystal Springs. Mississippi which is just south of Jackson. MS. This true "XS29" RT Charger was purchased from the original owner's family who bought the car new in Jackson. Mississippi. The car started life with a 440ci 4bbl under the hood and an automatic transmission on the floor. Years ago. the original #'s matching engine and trans were swapped out for a 1973 engine/trans. We do not have the original numbers matching drivetrain. Luckily. the original correct "2998961" radiator is still with the car though. The original dual-snorkle air cleaner was replaced at some point with a 400 air cleaner. This car was born in the very desirable B5 Medium Metallic Blue color. blue interior. white vinyl top. and in place of the more-common bumble bee stripe. this car actually had the white longitudinal stripe. The car was last registered in 1984 and has been sitting ever since. It's a little rough around the edges but is definitely a diamond in the rough. and will look beautiful when restored back to it's original appearance. We have not tried to turn the engine and will leave it alone for the new owner to do what they feel is best. For the most part. this car is very complete. It has typical rust issues in the common spots that are prone to go bad on any other Charger / B-body (which can be seen in the photos). From what we can tell. all of the frame rails look to be very solid though. This car had factory applied undercoating. so that probably helped save the frame rails. The rear glass is the only good piece of glass in the car. as the windshield is bad and the the side glasses were knocked out. The original plastic RT door scoops look to be in good shape. One of the best things about the car is the condition of the grille assembly. They are usually busted into many pieces but this one looks very nice! The only thing I can find wrong with it is the one small vertical rib broke off. which is an easy fix. Also. at the very top center of the driver side headlight door. you can see there is a small chip in the plastic too. All in all. it is a great grille assembly. The VIN plate. radiator support. and trunk gutter numbers all match. The original VIN decal in the door is present but is faded. There is a very small section of the original build sheet that is still in the back of the driver seat. We didn't pull it out in fear of tearing what was left of it. The new owner will have the joy of removing it from the seat. what is left of it. The original fender tag is missing but if the original owner's family can find it. we will certainly pass it along to the new owner. But. from what I can see on the car. some of the options include:-Tic Toc Tac-Air Conditioning-Auto Console-Factory Hood Pins-Hood-Mounted Turn Signals-Rear Speaker w/ fader switch-Road Wheels-Longitudinal Stripes-Factory applied Undercoating w/ Hood Insulator-Rocker MoldingsThe wheels and tires DO NOT go with the car and were only bolted on to move the car around. The original Road Wheels (Magnums) are included with the car though. The current tires on those wheels will not hold air so you will need to bring a set of rollers with you when you pick up the car. All in all. this really is a great car to start with and is in a very desirable color combination. This would be a great project car to start with and it isn't too often that you find one this complete. Thank you for looking at my auction and feel free to contact me it you have any questions. NO.
