Description for Dodge Dakota 1994
Up for auction is my 1994 Dodge Dakota with 236. 00 miles. I have owned it since 2001. I am the second owner. and have a clean. clear title in my name. It has the 5. 2 (318) Magnum V8. 4 speed automatic (A518) transmission and 3. 55:1 rear end gears. The truck is equipped with p/w. pdl. p/s. p/b. a/c. cruise. and it all still works. Extras include bedliner. cap. class 4 trailer hitch. trailer brake module and heavy duty helper springs installed in the back for heavy loads and towing. The truck starts/runs exceptionally well. and in the years that I have owned it. it has never left me stranded. It is a VERY reliable Truck. always starts and runs great. drives straight down the road. and shifts well. It has always been well maintained and the oil has been changed every 3. 00 miles by myself without exception. This truck has been sitting with very little use for the past 3-4 years now and I no longer have a use for it. so it's time to sell. If you're looking for a dependable work truck or a rig to tow your racecar to the track with at a fair price. then this truck is for you! The GOOD: Mechanically. the truck needs nothing. it is ready to work. It starts right up every time. runs great. drives great. and drives straight as an arrow down the road without any vibrations. I would feel very confident in driving this truck on a long road trip without any worries. The oil and filter has been changed and the transmission fluid has just been serviced. It had a rock chip in the windshield that grew into a crack over the winter. so I had the windshield replaced with a BRAND NEW one. Pretty much all of the issues that occur have all been taken care of. The fuel pump was replaced in 2012. and has less than 5. 00 miles on it. The radiator was also replaced in 2013 along with the serpentine belt and the cooling system was flushed out at that time with new coolant. It has crossdrilled front brake rotors. ceramic brake pads. new wheel bearings and seals installed in 2012 and have less than 5. 00 miles on them. The rear brake shoes. hardware. drums and wheel cylinders were replaced in 2011. and are still in great shape. The front suspension was rebuilt in 2010 with new inner and outer tie rod ends. upper and lower ball joints. control arm bushings and sway bar links. The front end was aligned at that time also. The truck has not been in any accidents. and has a clean carfax report. Modifications to the truck were a 3" mandrel bent exhaust (single) with a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler installed in 2012. It has a nice healthy sound to it without being overly obnoxious or too loud. It has Mopar Performance Headers installed on it (2002) the tri Y design. and is an emissions exempt vehicle in the state of Illinois. The tune up has been done with NGK U groove plugs. Magnecore 8. 5mm ignition wires. and Mopar distributor cap and rotor. but the date escapes me as to when I did it last. but it hasn't been that long ago. The tires were replaced in the summer of 2011. all 4 as a matching set. BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A. They are appx 35-40% worn and are still in good shape showing only minor cracking along the tread and are wearing well. nbsp;and even. Over the time I have had it. at some point. the master cylinder. front brake calipers. brake hoses. radiator hoses. heater core. water pump. thermostat. battery. motor mounts and U-joints have all been replaced. The heat and A/C work good too. The only thing I can think of that doesn't work is the horn. For the longest time it sounded faint and eventually quit working. The automatic A518 4 speed transmission was rebuilt about 60. 00 miles ago. and has had the fluid serviced twice (once every 30. 00 miles) It was rebuilt with new clutches and disks. all seals were replaced. the stock 4 gear aluminum planetary gear sets were replaced with steel 5 gear planetary gear sets to improve towing capacity and torque. The front pump and torque convertor were both replaced with new components. and all of the parts are factory Mopar parts. It has a Mopar Performance shift kit installed in it. set up for towing. It still shifts great and I would anticipate many more miles out of it without any problems. The roof and hood are painted satin black and still looks/shows well. is done nice. doesn't look tacky or rattle canned. The BAD; The body is rusty. The bottoms of both doors. cab corners. wheel well lips on all four corners are rusted. see pics. The floors are still really solid. and it doesn't have any water leaks. The only damage on the truck is the tailgate is dented in. but still opens and closes just fine without any problems. It has the typical normal scratches and door dings. but not many. truck still presents well. I do not have a key for the latch on lid of the truck cap. but shouldn't be hard for you to have one made or get a new handle from an RV dealer. The rear hatch props don't hold the lid up well and should be replaced. It has a Kenwood detatchable face AM-FM. CD. MP3 player with remote. but the faceplate doesn't light up anymore so it's hard to tell the radio station at a glance. The only thing mechanically that it will need soon is the exhaust crossover pipe replaced and it is currently patched so it doesn't leak. It huffs a small bit of smoke at start up cold. most likely due to worn valve stem seals. It has only minor oil leaks. and will leave a half dollar sized drop of oil in the driveway over night. but doesn't leak anymore than that. afterall. it does have 236. 00 miles on the original engine. but it runs excellent. and still makes great power. The interior is worn. but has no major rips or tears in any of the seats. It has the 60/40 split bench with armrest. It does have one small tear on the outside of the drivers seat. just above the recliner handle. it shows up in the picture of the interior. The headliner was sagging down. so I slit it with a razor blade in two seperate places and glued it back into place. I can't think of anything else that would be in need of attention anytime soon on the truck. I am selling this truck AS IS. with no warranties implied or expressed.
