Description for Dodge Dakota 1990
If you are reading this ad. you should know at what you are looking. Dodge made few convertible Dakotas for 2 years only 1989 and 1990 (there were 50 more made in 1991. as well. just to complete the contract) and this example is among the best optioned of them all: > Four-wheel-drive > 5-speed manual transmission / with console > Factory A/C > electric windows. power door locks. power steering. and power brakes (disc front) > AM/FM Stereo / Tape. It still has the factory boot for the original convertible top. and it comes in the original storage bag. There is a very small hole in the top that has been patched. however; the top is water tight. but old. There is distinct evidence of age. and this top should be on the slate for renewal sooner than later. The truck is red. with a very presentable gray interior (a small area of wear-through on the driver's side bolster - a high wear area). The dash is cracked. All dashes crack in the Arizona sun. However; the truck comes with a very nice replacement dash that I bought a while ago. and just never got around to installing (I have not taken it out of the box to examine in years). The center console lid is missing. The A/C was ice cold and all electrical worked as it should. the day I parked it. At some point in its history I replaced the catalytic converter. so the exhaust should be no problem. I am the 2nd owner (I believe). and personally put all but the first 44. 00 or so. miles on it. To my knowledge. it has never been outside the State of Arizona. and rarely out of the Phoenix Metro area. There is zero rust. and I have only engaged the 4-wheel-drive 2 times in the time I've owned it. I do not believe it was ever off-roaded; certainly not in the time I have owned it. The engine will need to be overhauled. It is seized. I partially disassembled it thinking the problem might be the timing chain. It was not. but the truck comes with a new Cloyes double roller chain. The transmission will not go into 2nd gear for some reason. All of the other gears were working fine at the time the truck was parked. I believe that the 2nd gear synchro is the culprit. The tires were nearly new when the truck was parked. but they have been sitting a long while. Your call on whether to use them. If you are a mechanic or mechanically inclined. this is a cheap buy-in to a very cool. appreciating. rare and collectible truck. Speaking of which. for a full-price offer. the best custom Arizona license plate in existence goes with it: COOL 4X4. (I keep it active by using it on my other cars. ) I have been offered good money for the license plate alone. Bring a trailer. tow home a prize. Payment:I expect a $500 deposit to be made by PayPal within 24 hours after the auction end. and payment in full by bank wire transfer. or cash in hand on or before date of title transfer (not to exceed 7 days - or by prior arrangement). The legal stuff:This is a 25-year-old truck. There is no warranty of any sort. either expressed or implied. Needless to say; the truck does not run. it is not currently licensed. and is offered as-is. This truck is as I have described it. However; everybody has a different idea about the meanings of one word or another. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that the would-be buyer come and inspect the truck prior to auction end. However; someone might think that I didn't do a good enough job of describing some specific thing or other that they find isn't to their liking. Fair enough. I will hold nobody to their offer: if after a belated inspection. and before delivery they decide that they either cannot or will not complete the transaction based upon my claimed misrepresentation. However; I will require that person to pay my eBay fees. in order to withdraw their offer. Otherwise; everyone reading this knows the drill. your offer is a legally binding contract. and you should expect to be required to perform. I will help with loading for those who want the Dakota shipped. All arrangements are the Buyer's responsibility. It seems silly to state that scammers are not welcome. for obvious reasons. Please see my eBay record. I have been on eBay since the 1990's (I bought this truck with 44. 00 miles on it in 1995. and got my eBay account in 1997). We can work out whatever complaint you might have. if you are negotiating in good faith.
