A Spectacular Dino GT in Original Color Blu Dino Metallizzato
In order to honor the memory of his late son and continue his developmental work on a new V-6 engine, nzo Ferrari directed Vittorio Jano to finish Dino's project. The Dino was not only Ferrari's first mid-engine production car, ut also marked the debut of a new Ferrari-based Dino brand that was entirely devoid of Ferrari badging. With its powerful 2,418 cc engine, nd a reported 146 mph top speed coupled with race-inspired handling, he Dino quickly impressed Ferrari fans.
This lovely example was completed for the US market in May of 1972. It retains its original color of Blu Dino Metallizzato which is highly desirable among collectors and complements the lines of the GT very well. The interior remains completely original and has aged nicely largely due to one single caring ownership over the last 35 years. With only 36,400 documented miles this Dino GT is the ultimate example for someone that is looking for the ideal original "driver". The engine was rebuilt approximately 3,500 miles ago and the car has received recent service to the brakes and a radiator rebuild. Attesting to its originality, he body numbers "955" are found on the rear trunk hinges, xpansion tank mounting bracket, nd inner door jamb panels. Additionally the engine and transmission have been verified as matching.
With low mileage on an engine rebuild, ith excellent documentation and ownership history tracking the miles and thorough maintenance this Dino GT is a turnkey example that is a joy to drive! Shifting is smooth through all the gears, cceleration is very responsive and braking is firm. It is important to note that we found a letter from the long term owner to the Ferrari Dino register where he confirms that the car is riding on its original tires (Michelin XWX's) we recommend replacing and storing these original tires before any long distance driving.

Letter from the previous owner - 1980-2015
When I first bought this car I needed it for my ego. As the years passed I didn't need it anymore or at least my ego didn't require it. It came with the realization that all "assets are liabilities" and owning a Ferrari can be a real liability. It was only my inertia that kept me from selling it.
Now I feel that I am a caretaker for this very special automobile and I can only pass it on to a very special owner; someone like me who will adopt it as a living art-form and who will likewise pass it on to the next qualified caretaker.
