The 308 carried a 2. 9 litre DOHC eight cylinder engine with four Weber carbs amidship which was the same layout that was used in the Boxer. The GTS model was introduced for model year 1977 and became the more produced of the two models. The GTB production was only about 30% of the total number of 308’s made. Ferrari had to keep up with strict emission regulations through the late 1970’s and for model year 1980 introduced fuel injection to the 308. The 308 by this point had become a little heavier and power had dropped to a mere 205hp. It was not until the 1983 model year that Ferrari introduced the 308QV which gave a stronger engine with more power and added four valves per cylinder. The 308 soldiered on until 1985 when it was replaced by a very similar 328. The iconic style of the 308 is one of the most recognized Ferrari’s ever produced and has become one of the most coveted. European Motor Studio is proud to offer this beautiful 1977 Ferrari 308GTB finished in Rosso Corsa over Tan leather interior. This 308GTB left the Modena factory in May of 1977 and was imported into the United States. The car has lived in Florida in a long term private collection for the couple decades. The car has traveled only 31. 15 miles and is believed to 100% accurate. The Rosso Corsa paint shows very well and still retains an excellent deep shine and luster. The car has been repainted at some point in its life and still shows remarkably well. There are a few small touch ups on the front trunk lid edges and around the windshield wiper stocks. There are two small touch ups on the back passenger fender as well as one small chip underneath the passenger window. There are some stone chips on the back lower drivers side fender near the Pininfarina badge one a small quarter size spider web crack in the back engine lid. All of the trim on the exterior of the body show remarkably well and show very little signs of age. All of the Saint Gobain glass appears to be original and still in excellent unmarked condition. The interior is all original and in excellent condition. The drivers seat does show some light cracking and small creases but does not show any damage. tears or fading. The carpets all appear to be original and are in excellent condition showing little wear. The headliner is in excellent condition as is the center console and dashboard. All of the switchgear is in excellent condition and showing only minimal signs of age. All of the gauges except the oil temp gauge appear to be working including the clock. The center console lights. the dash lights and the interior lights are all operating as designed. The headlights are working along with the taillights. brake lights. side marker lights. hazard lights and turn signals. The Blaupunkt radio and antenna are not operable. The AC seems to be operating on all of the fan speeds and blowing fairly cool air. The car starts right up and does not blow out any smoke and once warmed up the car idles about 800-900rpms. This 308 runs and drives very well and shifts through all of its gears with ease. The engine sounds great and pulls very strong. The brakes feel excellent and free from any fade or squeaking. The suspension feels nice and tight and does not make any unusual sounds. The steering feels nice and solid and does not give any vibrations or issues of any kind. The car has just had an enormous amount of service work just recently performed. In February of this year the timing belt was replaced along with the tensioners. cam seals and housing o rings. valve cover gaskets. distributor seals and housing gaskets. cam end cover gaskets. air filter. a valve adjustment. torque the cams and torque heads all done by a Ferrari specialist in Florida. All of the fluids were also drained and replaced along with the spark plugs. brakes bleed. new oil filter and an inspection of the clutch. brakes. exhaust and wheel bearings which were all found to be good. In March of this year the rack and pinion steering was replaced along with new ball joints. Brand new Michelin tires were just put on the car three weeks and an alignment was also completed. The radiator just came out and was recored. The car comes with receipts of all the recent work performed as well as an owners manual. This is an excellent example of one of the most iconic and sought after Ferrari’s made. The carbureted 308’s have especially become sought after for their better performance than the later cars.
