Description for Ferrari Mondial 1983

Offered for your consideration is this terrific 1983 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole Sunroof Coupe. This is an exceptional example of what is most likely Ferrari's most durable, practical and fun to drive Berlinetta apart from a newer model car (which would not only be more expensive to purchase but also to maintain). Unlike the 328GTB, a car which in today's market would cost you upwards of $60,000 in this condition, the Mondial features a useable trunk and back seat for a week's worth of luggage, groceries or whatever you might normally carry in a Porsche 911 or other similarly practical sports car. Long undervalued, they are now the value in today's hot Ferrari marketplace, particularly when they are as sorted out as this car.

Fewer than 500 miles ago, Brian Crall (formerly of San Ramon, CA. ) did about $15,000 of out-of-body engine rebuild work at Hill Country Ferrari Service in Austin, Texas. I can send you the invoice if you'd like to see the details.

The original cat and exhaust system are running well. Although this was originally a California cars, the special blower and smog equipment failed long ago and have been removed.

The car is now running as good as new, if not better. The manuals are included.

So why am I selling? My wife said I could buy the Rolls if I sold the Mondial. 'Nuff said.

The Mondial 3.2 is a timeless Pininfarina design that looks low, sleek and fast just sitting still.

The original metric wheels have been upgraded to the tune of $2,000. That investment has already paid for itself because standard tires are a fraction of the price of spec. The tires still have over 90 percent of the tread left on them.

Check this beauty out from a few different angles.

The sunroof is in excellent repair.

The Mondial has a cavernous trunk compared to the zipper pocket opening on a 328. This, plus the two back seats, have earned this car the title "The Family Man's Ferrari." I have taken my wife and two kids cruising and everyone had a great time. It can also hold a buddy and two sets of golf clubs for an afternoon on the Links.

Speaking of The Family Man's Ferrari, there are a couple of inconsequential paint chips caused by road debris and warring boys.

This Mondial QV's interior is in very good condition for an original 30 year old sports car with just shy of 68,000miles from new. The seats are lovely and appear to have been well kept. Both front seats are comfortable and supportive. The rear seats don't appear to have been used much, if at all.

All the switches and dials work well, the windows, power antenna, glovebox and fuel door releases and climate control do what they're supposed to do.The dashboard and instrument binnacle are uncracked. Carpet and lower dash are likewise without fault.

The A/C blows cold.

The door panels are just as tidy as the rest of the interior.

The shifter and console are impeccable.

Good luck bidding on the amazing vehicle. It is not a perfect museum piece but a very, very niceiconic Italian masterpiece.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for looking at this listing.

PS I'm not sure about eBay's plagiarism rules. I must admit that I shamelessly cribbed much of this copy from an older listing. The photos, of course, are all mine.
