Description for Ferrari Testarossa 1988

This 1988-1/2 Ferrari Testarossa has beautiful original Rosso Corsa paint with a gorgeous tan leather interior. The interior is 100% original and in nearly excellent condition – nothing has been restored or replaced. The dash has NO stretch or pull marks anywhere – a very rare thing! This is a stunning example of an exquisite low-mileage car. The folks in Maranello would be proud.

There were 1,072 of these 1988 models built, and only 390 of them were ever delivered to the USA. Serial numbers are 74103-79219.

This fine automobile was originally delivered new in 1988 and according to the records with the car it was first sold to Kenny Bernstein. The car subsequently had a few owners in a short period of time, (that was quite the norm back then when these were very hard to find and the price was climbing every day!). The car spent its entire life in California until I purchased it from a fellow FCA member in NOV 2012 who always garaged it.

This absolutely spectacular beauty is a very well preserved and well cared for automobile. Since I have owned her she has spent her life in pure luxury in a heated, air-conditioned and humidity-controlled garage. I have about 2,000 miles it, and never driven it in wet conditions.

I have always taken this car it to an expert older Ferrari mechanic (40+ years Ferrari experience!) who went through everything possible while doing a major belt service. No expense was spared. While the engine was out, the radiators were pressure checked, cleaned and serviced. The heater hoses were replaced (this is a major pain) with silicone hoses, as well as all hoses and belts were replaced. New plug wires and carbon contacts were installed. The valves were adjusted and the valve covers were powder coated. The A/C receiver/dryer was replaced, and the system was evacuated, charged with R134A and checked. The clutch master cylinder was replaced and the system was bled. The front brake calipers were completely rebuilt and include new pads. The engine was drained and flushed, and new Royal Purple 20W 50 HPS full synthetic oil was installed. The front and rear splash pans were removed and repainted. The window motors were pulled, cleaned out, and re-greased and replaced. The lights in the doors and ashtrays were replaced.

There are a very few magnificent upgrades that include Kinesis K-59 18” polished 2-piece rims with new low mileage NITTO NT555 18” Z-rated tires all around; a Kenwood stereo, a10-CD changer with a 500-watt power booster, a spare set of Ferrari prancing horse logo floor mats, and a complete car cover.

The car includes its original 5-lug rims & tires and also comes with its original tool set, jack, and spare tire, as well as the books in the glove compartment.
