I am pleased to offer this beautiful Modena California Spyder. This car was completed in 1987 from the last unassembled Modena kit. It features a Ford Thunderbird 3.8 liter supercharged V6 motor with automatic trans. It comes with a huge amount of original paperwork and documentation which is rarely seen with these Modenas Priced to move - no need to spend upwards of $250k. Key Features: - Based on a 1958-1962 (Prancing Horse) California Spyder - Manufactured by Modena Design & Development - Chassis #18 of a total production run of approx. 54 - Built in 198, last of 11 unassembled cars - 2″ X 3″ box steel main frame with 3/4″ box steel back bone - 1974 Mustang II based suspension - All suspension points are either poly bushings or Heim joints - Carrera coil over shocks with Delrin Heim joints on all for corners - Rear axle located via 4 bar and Panhard joints - Engine - 1993 Thunderbird Supercoupe 3.8 Liter supercharged V6 with air to air intercooler - Trans. - 1993 Thunderbird Supercoupe 4 speed AOD - Rear axle - 1974 Mustang II 8″, 3.00 to 1 with traction lock - Exhaust - 2.25″ diameter main tubes wit 2.25″ cross over, 2.25″ Dynomax high flow cats, 2.25″ Dynomax 3 chamber mufflers, 3″ stainless steel/cast aluminum resonators. All joints use 2.25″ band clamps - Car has been well cared for and well sorted and has traveled 65,000 +/- miles (mostly highway) since being built. Clearly, the previous owner of this car was very detail oriented regarding this car. He kept incredible notes that will greatly benefit the next owner. There is a tremendous amount of documentation that will go with this car. Recent Work Done:In March, 2018, the owner had the car "gone thru" and the following was done: - Oil and filter change - Check brakes, suspension, steering, engine and trans. - Repair tail lights, parking lights, brake lights, signal lights - Replace driver and passenger windows Total spent $1610 Video Links:* To listen to it purr, click here * To watch a brief "walkaround" video, click here Recently Honored:The Modena Cal Spyder Replica from Ferris Bueller's Day Off was recently honored in the national mall in Washington DC by the Historical Vehicle Association (HVA) during the fourth annual "Cars at the Capital" exhibit.
