Description for Ferrari 365 GTB/4 1971
For Sale is a 1971 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona that was purchased by the former owner in 1973, staying in the family ever since! This particular Ferrari shows just under 59,000 actual miles on the original, number's matching drivetrain and received a cosmetic restoration in the distant past! In true collector fashion, this classic Ferrari has continuously been properly stored and cared for over the years. Now, this newly acquired 1971 Ferrari Daytona is being offered for sale for the first... time in 46 years making for a very unique opportunity for any sports car enthusiasts! Additional features include the fitted, original Borani wheels, along with a matching spare, all original window glass, tools, owners manuals, and repair catalogs. History of the 1971 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona: Debuting at the 1968 Paris Auto Show, Ferrari's newest Grand Touring automobile would come wearing a newly sculpted Pininfarina styling renamed as the 365GTB/4 Berlinetta. This model would replace the popular 275GTB/4, while retaining the front-engine V12 platform Ferrari came to love its GT cars. The Ferrari body would become a little more edgy with distinctively sharper angles, with all coachwork completed by Scaglietti in Modena, Italy. The Tipo 226 engine would grow in size to a new Tipo 251 designation, growing from 3.3L to 4.4L which used a larger bore and stroke. Feeding the engine would be six, Weber DCN 20/21A 2-bbl carburetors, along with a Magnetti Marelli Dinoplex ignition. Performance within the newly revealed 365GTB/4 Berlinetta was outstanding, pushing the 365GTB/4 from 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds along with a top speed just a tick shy of 175mph! It was also claimed as the world's fastest production car and Ferrari's most expensive offering. The 1971 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona was built between 1969 and 1973, where only 1,284 GTB/4 Berlinetta coupes by Scaglietti would be produced. Even today, they continue to be hailed as one of Ferrari's greatest GT-cars ever created! Features of this 1971 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona For Sale: This 1971 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Berlinetta by Scaglietti chassis #13929 is finished in striking Giallo Fly(Fly Yellow) over Tan & Black Daytona leather seats. Power comes from its original number's matching engine #B730 and classic 5-speed gate-shifted transmission producing a robust 352 horsepower and 318 ft. lbs. of torque! Amenities were abundant on the Ferrari 365GTB/4 which included power windows, air conditioning, leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel, original Voxson AM/FM/8-track player Stereo audio system, tweed floor mats, windshield washer, FIAMM Italian air horns, 15x7.5" Borani-Milano chrome wire-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin XWX 215/70VR tubeless radial tires! Our available Ferrari example has been in the constant care of the same car-loving family since December 3rd, 1973. It was purchased at that time from Robert S. by Robert A. of St. Louis, MO who would cherish this particular Ferrari until his passing, leaving it to his children to enjoy. Now, this beautiful classic Ferrari is being offered for sale for the first time in 46 years with just 58,894 miles showing on the odometer. Seen here is a lightly used Ferrari that has been enjoyed sparingly each year, keeping it exercised and in excellent working condition. It was professionally repainted from an original blue exterior to Fly Yellow in approximately 1974/75 soon after his initial purchase and possesses only a few flaws in the exterior finish upon closer inspection. The interior leather seats, dash, and floor carpeting were refinished more recently in 2010. After Mr. Anderson's death, the Ferrari was stored for a couple of years, so in 2017 the gas tank was removed to be cleaned and flushed, all carburetors were rebuilt and synced, new NGK spark plugs installed, all fuel and air filters replaced, all fluids changed, and a new battery installed. Upon arrival to the St. Louis Car Museum, this classic Ferrari was once again tuned with the air conditioning system to perform at full operation. It retains its original Sigla front/ rear windshields, Sekurit side glass, all factory owner's manuals (in an original Ferrari leather case), spare parts catalog, and complete tool kit with matching wire-spoke spare tire. It continues to impress, and would not disappoint the next lucky owner!
