Description for Ferrari Mondial 1985
Four owner non-smoker car. originally sold in Germany. I bought the car from a local MD and have owned it a little over two years. Always garaged (sometimes on display at a friend's "man cave"). the car was out in the rain once since I have owned it. Very good to excellent condition overall. Starts easily every time. shifting is smooth and easy. Handles beautifully. No leaks or drips of any kind. Paint. trim. moldings. badges. tires. wheels. glass. are all excellent. Power windows are a little slow - not uncommon in Ferraris. Correct top. correct boot. correct rear window. and correct fasteners were all new last year. Comes with original tan tonneau cover and aftermarket red full cover. Original tool kit with a few spare parts missing such as light bulbs and fuses. Note the clear fuse cover in front compartment. These are often cloudy. showing age. Spare tire has never been on the ground to my knowledge. Original decal sticker still on windshield. Radio is new Pioneer with cassette player and multi-CD controls for a changer if desired. Speakers are new J L Audio TR600-CXi. The original Blaupunkt radio is available if wanted. (Best estimate I got to repair it was over $2000. )I have made one repair that is not stock. Recently the headlight covers stopped opening. We found that the ground had gone bad in the "stalk" control on the column. We also found that this part is difficult to find and very expensive when you do. The common fix is to install a separate ground with a sturdy switch under the dashboard. That switch flips open and closes the covers. Otherwise. the stalk works as designed. Of course. the new owner can have the entire stalk replaced if wanted. There are two keys. owners manuals. other documents. and extra belts (except timing belts). To my knowledge and the previous owner's knowledge. the timing belts have never been replaced. That should probably be done within another 3000 miles or so. I am told this is one of the very few Ferrari models where the timing belts can be changed without lifting the engine making it much cheaper to do. For more peace of mind. I have a letter written in 2014 from a Ferrari specialist testifying to the condition of the car. VIN is ZFFLC15B000053929. This car is being sold AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTIES EITHER WRITTEN OR IMPLIED. Payment of $1000 down is expected within 24 hours of auction close. Full payment is expected within 7 days of auction close. Both payments may be by cash. cashier's check. or certified check. I will accept PayPal but at buyer's expense (any fees or charges by PayPal would be added to winning bid. ) Car must be picked up by buyer at seller's location. Seller will not be responsible for any shipping expenses. I welcome any inspection of the car prior to the close of bidding. I also welcome any questions. One final note. The car is being auctioned with a low reserve. I MUST sell this car soon for private reasons.
