Introduced at the 1981 Frankfurt Show the 512BBiwas the last derivation of the 1973 365 BerlinettaBoxers. Almost identical to its 512 BB predecessor it retained the wider rear track and wider and longer body now featuring BoschK-Jetronicfuel injection instead of carburetors. With 344 hp at 6300 rpm and an overall weight of just 3304 pounds the 512BBiperformed in Ferrari style and was a major sales success. At the close of production in 1984 it marked the passing of an era in Ferrari history - for ascoachbuilderSergioScagliettisadly remarked "It was the last car where we made everything by hand." As a last production year model in original European specifications this beautiful 512 bbi wears a striking color scheme of Silver over Black Boxer trim with red inserts.
