Description for Fiat Dino 1967
You're looking at an early example of a sleek grand touring legend. This 1967 Fiat Dino coupe has style, distinction, and the heart of a Ferrari. And so it's amazing that a well presented package can be this obtainable.
The overall quality of this coupe starts with its history. It came from a collector who mostly enjoyed Ferraris. And so you're looking at a coupe that has been given the proper care like a prancing horse. That's why the panels fit so nicely, the trim is complete, and the doors shut with that perfect "click" that the best classic Italian driving machines have. And as you look over the pictures, you'll see that this example doesn't suffer from the body pitfalls of the other examples that were stored without much care. Then again, there are not that many examples left to compare this one to anymore. There are likely less than 1,200 coupes left in the world today, and so to have one with a two-digit production number gives it distinction amongst the rare. But more than just history we know you love this Dino for its Ferrari-like red, Bertone-designed curves, and all the Ferrari-like details, right down to wheels that are shared with the 206GT version.
Inside is everything you love about Italian style. You can tell the bucket seats were designed for spirited driving, and the stitching pattern along the perforated inner panels make it look fast even when parked. In fact, everyone gets this cool look because the rear seats are buckets, too, on this true 2+2 coupe. Slipping behind the wheel really does feel akin to a prancing horse with the wood-rimmed steering wheel, crisp shifter, and a full set of Veglia Borletti gauges. But there are plenty of extra comfort touches like the power windows and wood on the center console/dash that remind you this was built for a comfortable day driving up the Italian Alps.
Under the hood is what really makes this car a legend. The Fiat Dino program was created to help get the 206GT into racing. Ferrari needed their 2.0-liter, six-cylinder Dino motor produced in a large scale, so Fiat agreed to boost production numbers with a limited-edition sports car that also carried this exact same performance motor. The engine in this car is the more desirable 2.4L Dino Ferrari iron block engine, not the original 2.0L aluminum block. The bold red air intake and bright Dino-branded valve covers radiate power from within the dark engine bay. And when you get this out on the road, you know the performance is more than just an appearance. The dual-overhead camshafts mean it develops great low-end power. And as he headers feed the newer dual exhaust, it creates that unique and urgent tone that only comes from the best at Ferrari. You control this entire symphony via five-speed manual transmission. Control is also well in hand thanks to Dunlop Sport tires and four-wheel disc brakes.
An early example of the classic Italian driving machine that not only comes out of a quality collection, but also has the maintenance records to prove its worth. So if you're a fan of the Fiat Dino (or just proper European grand touring,) then you know it will be tougher to find a finer example. Don't miss out, call today!
