Description for Fiat X-1/9 1987
Please read the entire auction carefully and in its entirety. This is a no reserve car winner takes all 10 day auction ending on August 2nd at 845PM Pacific Time. You are bidding on a spectacular car. This car started out life as a rare late model 1987 Bertone Fiat X 1/9. In the 90s till 2016 it was owned by a well-known and respected enthusiast name Neil Hannemann. Neil was the lead engineer for the Dodge Viper and a racing champion. He liked this car so much that he had the car rebuilt with oversized pistons. When this was done he replaced the gauge cluster and the mileage indicated is how many miles since the rebuild. The car had approximately 85,000 on it when this rebuild was compete. I have not had it put on a Dyno however based on owning more than 20 of these I would estimate its putting close to 95 horsepower down. Its not slow. There have been several spectacular and expensive modifications done over the years. This includes. Adjustable coil over suspension, Custom Modified PBS flares and front air-dam, as well as a FAZA rear deck-lid spoiler in fiberglass. Also the car has had the oversized and not so attractive bumpers removed. 800 dollars Sparko race seats have been installed. It has a brand new leather Ichiban racing steering wheel from Japan in the traditional Momo or Nardi bolt pattern. The car sits on Competizion 15x7 wheels with Yokohama S-Drive tires staggered wider in the rear. The car corners on rails. It’s truly one of the best handling X 1/9s I have ever owned and driven. We estimate over 150 lbs have been taken out of this car. We have the original seats available if the buyer wants them. Extensive maintenance has been performed including a new rebuilt transmission and new clutch performed by Snows Automotive in Orange California. Also a New Starter was installed. We have a Stainless steel overflow bottle installed as well. We have collector insurance on the car and drive it a bit less than 1000 miles per year. The paint is a very close match to the original with a bit of pearl added. This car gets lots of looks. People literally break their necks to check it out. It drives spectacular on Canyon roads and cruises effortlessly at 90 miles per hour. I have experienced 32MPG on the highway with it. The paint is not perfect but it looks outstanding. There will be a few small flaws or rock chip here or there. Car comes with Original Jack and extra paint both in touch up and spray bottle. There is absolutely zero rust under this car. It does have a branded Title from California (salvage) from a small fender bender in the late 90s when these cars worth not worth much. This car offers a lot of value for the money. Not including the paint job there is over $5,000 in performance upgrades. Contact Jeff at 949-910-1206 Voice or Text with questions.
This car won best of show for Fiats at the 2017 Best of France and Italy car show in Van Nuys, California.
