Description for Ford Other 1951
Classic styling with modern conveniences and reliability! The Country Squire woodie wagon is. arguably. the most desirable model Ford created in 1951. Better yet. however. is having that classic look with a modern drive train and other options that make for a reliable. powerful. and comfortable ride. This attractive woodie wagon offers just that. During a restoration that saw this car completely disassembled and then reassembled from the ground up with new or restored parts. as required. the old "flathead" motor was replaced by a more modern. mildly modified Ford 5. 0L (302 cubic inch) Cobra V8 with performance headers. dual exhaust. MSD ignition. etc. This is coupled to a C4 automatic transmission making driving very relaxed. Complementing the significant mechanical improvement of the engine and transmission swap is the addition of power brakes. with disc brakes in the front to improve stopping. power steering. electric windshield wipers. etc. As a California car to begin with rust was never a problem. About four years ago the car was stripped. beautiful Mercedes Midnight Blue base coat/clear coat paint was applied. and all new ash and mahogany wood was installed outside. In addition all the chrome was either replaced with new or re-plated. The interior received mahogany door panels as well as mahogany side trim completely back to and including the inside of the tailgate. The seats received beautiful. rich blue and saddle colored leather with matching headliner. The dash is custom with great looking wood grain. All of the gauges operate as they should. The car had been in California since its restoration. only recently being transported to Florida where it now resides. This car was recently inspected and appraised by an independent certified appraiser. A copy of the three page summary report of that appraisal can be found among the attached pictures. The appraisal rates this car overall as a #2+ automobile. The car runs and drives beautifully. The wide whitewall tires are radials making for improved handling and excellent tracking. This fine woodie is completely finished and ready to show. drive and enjoy. The car is available for inspection and you are encouraged to see the car. or have someone inspect it for you.
